Hey I have a new Xbox360Pro. Can i mod it?. Am scared to do it coz if the guarantee breaks or if I screw the entire console I ll be boned.
So pls tell me wat are all the lookouts before modifying an Xbox360. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you get it modded via some pro modder , as they can do it without voiding your warranty and wil give you back of your firmware as well .

Should charge around 1k .

Get it modded from someone who can guarantee retaining the warranty sticker on the console. If there is a slightest bit of damage to the sticker, then kiss your warranty good bye. But modding the console itself is voiding the console's warranty. I'd suggest waiting for sometime if you're willing to mod the console, as the latest version of IExtreme firmware would be launched soon.
 
Don't softmod the xbox360 Uptill now MS have made 4 waves of xbox360 games which need to change the firmware .Use modchip and then u can play backup till ur xbox360 is not RROD.If ur xbox360 is jasper then there is least chance of ur xbox to get RROD.
 
give it to a pro modder .. Let me knw where u r located and i can provide you with some contacts .. I also got mine done recently so knw the guy personally if u r in delhi ...
Also the whole sticker thing is not entirely true .. It depends on the ppl who come to pick up yor console .. Incase they check for it its bad luck other :ohyeah:
 
Karthikeyan, do mention that the console was purchased from Scotland! PAL region. Btw I did confirm most facts mentioned above over the phoney conversation although I've one final doubt if the console is a Jasper as against the older Falcon. He mentioned that the power brick was 204W as against the 150W brick, but the DC output was 12V and purchased during Feb 2009. Does that confirm if it is a Jasper?

When did you purchase your 360? What's the manufacturing date? Check the back of your 360 to get the details then enter them on this website Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database.

This way you know what DVD-Drive is inside your 360, another way is to simply remove the faceplate in front of the 360 and look for yellow wires thru the holes.

If its yellow its a lite-on drive which can be on either 74850C firmware or 83850C

The difference between the firmware is - 74850c requires a probe/spear to extract key from the chip on the dvd-drive and 83850c doesn't.

Sadly to be completely sure you'll have to open up your box and check the sticker on the dvd-drive to read the firmware version.

Get back with the details and I shall help you if wanna flash it yourself.
