Microsoft expands Xbox 360 warranty coverage - Gaming Age

I know not having the three red lights of doom would have been better but since MS cant go back in time, you can't ask for more than this.

And the best part is it covers the consoles already sold. So if you bought one a year ago and thought it was out of warranty now. Guess what? It still has two years of protection against the red lights.

Whoa that's surely great news and a smart move from Microsoft.
Now I can buy an Xbox360 without any tension.
Actually I should say a very good move,since it would have been a hectic procedure if the company would have recalled all the 10million pieces sold.
Now I wont be waiting for the 65nm Xbox's to come.:hap2:

I hope September comes fast,waiting for Xbox Live launch since even prices are expected to come down during that period.
First I was double minded between Xbox360 and PS3, only because of the reliability reasons of Xbox.
But now it's definitely Xbox360...:bleh:
Looks like the PS3 is gonna go in complete loss after this.

3 years warranty + Xlive coming to India = huge reason to get an X360 in India. Now, if they could cut down the price to match it's brethren abroad, that would be amazing.

That's not what I meant. MS doesn't need to drop the price since they're under no pressure from the PS3 to be doing something like that. Plus, they still aren't making profits off of each X360 sold.

What I really meant was dropping the Indian price to something closer to it's price abroad.

this is awesome news... btw what are the current prices for the core/premium versions right now?? and how much do games costs..talkin bout original... is it wrth buying the 360 with a normal 25" flat crt..????

The core is still 20K and the premium is 25K, although I've seen the premium selling for as less as 22-23K on Ebay.
