bro got an xbox 360 from usa but the adaptor has diff. voltage which wont work here....where to get the power adaptor in Blore and how much will it cost...btw its the new xbox 360

u need a step down transformer with a high wattage rating
find amp from power cable and calculate wattage reqd by amp*110
i use my xbox (not xbox 360) with a 250W. it cost me 1100rs. indian brand maxine. 1 yr warranty

actually my younger brother connected the adaptor to the power socket and switched it on...but thankfully he switched it on before he connected it to the xbox360..he said after connecting he heard a sound from the adaptor and some smoke released....so i guess the adaptor is burned out...can i buy a new adaptor from here and connect it to the xbox 360 ?

Post a thread in the market section there are some dead xbox 360's here maybe someone wanna sells the power cord.

Hi

I haven't seen XBOX so I won't know the DC Voltage & Amp rating. A simple solution which I tried successfully is - Buy a Indian Power supply with same output voltage & current rating as ur XBOX. Then simple snip/cut the original adapter conenctor with abt 6 inch of wire & connect it in place of your Indian connector.

I have used this with Nntendo & also with Uniden phone chargers..

I am also using My Samsung Color Laser AIO which consumes 450W with a 220V to 110V 500W stepdown transformer.

Also my SOny Play Station (US Make) I am using with a portable Stepdown transformer of 20W.

So I am sure yoru xbox can also do.

Thanks everyone, but i really want to know that if i buy a new power cable with the same output as the one i got from us, will it work with my xbox ?

I did a google for XBOX 360 power adapter & found below link with pics.It has a 9 pin connector - looks like - u may know better

Xbox 360 Power Adapter Specifications - SW-8823, $62.95

As per this, the DC o/p is at 12V 16.5A & also 5V at 1A.

Also the PSU has Cooling fans.

SO pl chk carefully what u r getting

However a 300W stepdown transformer 220V to 110V is a better bet
