xbox 360 problem

can anyone help with the following xbox problem

xbox 360 4 months old

everytime i put a game in it says please put this disc in an xbox360 console..last time i checked my xbox was an xbox360 con sole.

i have opened to check lazer etc so cant send back to microsoft.

any ideas welcome

Have you tried a cold boot?

Place the disc in your 360 and switch it off.

Wait for 10 seconds and switch it on again.
