XBox controller 'problem'

I ordered an XBox controller from HomeShop18 (for my PC, but thought this section of the forum would be more fitting), and after a day, it's LT (left trigger) button has become squeaky. It works perfectly well, but it makes a silly squeaky noise when pressed.
It has 90 days warranty, any idea if this is a valid reason for exchange under warranty? Or should I contact Homeshop18 itself for replacement product?

And where exactly am I supposed to go to avail the Microsoft warranty? Found a list of retail stores (Microsoft India Hardware Home) but I don't know whether they can take products for service too.

EDIT: Thought about it and it sounds like a very trivial problem. I wouldn't give it a second thought if it happend after two months or more, but it's just a day old.
