Hey guys, im in need of a new console , but im very confused which 1 to get whether xbox360 or PS3....which one has better games and better graphics etc.... i think that ps3 comes with a blu ray player, but atm i really dont need it, so dont take the blu ray player in account, other than the bluray advantage of Ps3...which would be better ..XBOX360 or Ps3

Another question is...im having a very old TV at home...some BPL 21 inch 4:3 aspect ratio TV ..if i get any of the above consoles...will it still be "Viewable" at good graphics on this tv ..or i need to upgrade TV also...

Whichever way you decide, it is being rumoured that the XboX 360 Pro will fall to 300$ within a week. Hopefully there will be a drop in price in India as well.

I am using a PS3 on a 25" CRT as i dont have a HDMI cable, graphics are fine - almost like the PS2 but slightly better (have only played GT5P and Warhawk)

So yes, if you can buy a lcd that can do atleast 720p or if not then a monitor, then do it.21" CRT wont be much fun graphically

I am more than happy with my Xbox but either is a good buy at this point.

The thing that swung it towards the Xbox for me was the fact that all 360 games retail for anything between 300-800 RS lower than the PS3 games.

Look around in any store. eg. I bought FIFA 08 for Xbox for about 1.9k, same for the PS3 will set you back 2.5K.

Its a huge differance if you buy about 12 games a year. 12 PS3 games = 14 Xbox games + 1 year live subscription or 15 Xbox games if you like me dont care for online that much.

Plus like you Blu ray was pointless to me since the BR movies are too expensive to seriously consider buying them regularly.

amm shouldnt this be in the console section ......

also as for ur suggestions as far as i have seen if u want to buy a nex gen console and experience the next gen graphics u MUST PLAY THE GAMES ON AN LCD WICH can do atleast 720p... otherwise the games will look mostly like how ps2 games look now...i think ur cheapest bet is the dell 24 incher .. i think there are some offers for it on te.. believe me it will be worth it..

hey guys..thanks for ur useful informations !!

another doubt...should i go for a 720p TV or the Dell LCD monitor like you suggested ... would a PC LCD monitor like dell be good enough as a 720p TV?

What is your budget for the TV/monitor?

go for the PS3 you can play games like MGS4 ,heavenly sword, resistance fall of man ,motorstorm the graphics will blow ur mind .as far as xbox and ps3 is concerned ps3 wins hands down.but then if you can get ur hands on a 1080p LCD tv the graphics will be even better .

Regarding PS3 vs Xbox 360 see the exclusive games these consoles have on offer and see which one has games you would like to play. You can go through some trailers or gameplay videos of existing games which will help you select a platform.

Do not base your purchase decision on hardware superiority or bluray. Of course bluray is a welcome addition, but you also need a HDTV and be prepared to shell Rs 1200+ for each bluray movie.
Xbox 360 games are cheaper in price but the units sold here were manufactured in 2006. They may have the Red Ring Of death problem. Although a 3 year warranty exists for this problem it takes 2 weeks to get the problem fixed and it may occure multiple times. The failure rate of the xbox 360 console is high.

PS3 games are expensive and the non exclusive titles (initial) were not the best. But the exclusives simply blow you away. PS3 does suffer from a spin of death problem but the failure rate is relatively lower.

Incorrect! My faulty RROD'd Xbox 360 was replaced by MS in 4 days.

What happens is you give MS a call. They pass the matter to Milestone who give you a call. Milestone then send someone over who picks up your Xbox and gives you a new one in exchange. At your home.

It did take them about 7 days to replace it for my friend but I think that included a weekend.

Still hard to be annoyed when the turnaround time is that good and they make the pick up/delivery from your home.

^^Wow! That is very good service. Yeah, but listen to Octave otherwise. It really all comes down to which console offers you the games that you like and how accessible those games are with regards to availability and pricing.

Hey wait for 3 months and get both console(360 bcoz u can use pirated copy :D) and 32" hdtv with in may be 50k ,As there is cost reduction on its way for the both

hey dude please go through the gaming section-> console...

and some threads posted by guys previously...we had a huge discussion between these two and there was no conclusion......

just read around more u'll find ur answer instead of posting it in a new thread.

MODS can u please merge this thread with the rest of the PS3 and X360 threads..

Buy PS3 only if you have enough capacity TV, I mean LCD or HDTV only.. PS3 rocks on High Defination.. My friend using it on 29" Sony CRT but graphics are not very good.. It looks just slightly better than PS2, thats all...
