Hey
My setup used to be a Core i7 920 proccy, MSI X58 Pro-E mobo, 6GB RAM and a NVidia GTX 460. Now, my proccy has gone kaput and is out of warranty. So I need a 1366 socket compatible CPU.
I've checked online and found a cheap Xeon L5520 which also apparently fits into the 1366 socket and has specs that seem to be just slightly lower than the much more expensive i7 920.
My question is: is the Xeon an ok replacement for the 920 in what is essentially a gaming rig? I'm thinking of this mainly because of the significant price difference.
Thanks for your help.
