The Hyd distributor of XFX finally realised what the 6600GT is!!
Now he is quoting a price of 11.5k.

Can anyone pls tell me if this is reasonable..if not..what price can i quote (to bargain). :)

The price here in Mumbai is 10,500 for the AGP card . If your interested i have a month old XFX 6600 GT AGP purchased on 13th June 2005 with national warranty from BigByte for sale . Its AGP and not PCIe .

i have also a 2 month old XFX 6600GT with 3 years warranty ....... for sale if u r interested its for 8k and is AGP model .....

BIG 6600GTs are going for less than 10K and they are BFG oems to boot-meaning no HSI bridge issues.
what you mean by HSI bridge issues?? kindly elaborate.
also, are you sure all BIG cards are BFG OEMs??
coz i thought darky posted in sm thread abt BIG getting their cards frm 2 OEMs.
not sure though :P plz confirm. :)

Well the HSI bridge chip on the 6600GT had heating issues on the reference 6600GT AGP that caused the card to become unstable and sometimes the system would crash(that includes xfx 6600gt AGP). However since then XFX has changed its HSF design and rev 2.0 cards no longer have this problem. The BFG card has a different layout compared to the XFX and hence the heating issue is not present. All BIG 6600GT cards are made by the same OEM (global connections or whatever) that makes BFG cards. So other than the overclocked speeds of the BFG and lifetime warranty, the cards are identical.

I think this thread will become more clear if Argus specifies whether he is looking for PCIe or AGP. 11.5k for a 6600GT is too high IMHO. A lot of people here are selling the 6600GT at great prices, do consider before you buy...

hi this is my 1st reply,,,
so a have this big 6600gt agp with 128 mb byed at hyderabad for 9.5k,,,i was 1st shocked to see tat the temp was very high about 60c idle and going 73 at load...before this i had zebronics 6200 256 mb,it was running cooler at 33c idle and 45c at load...so i decided to go for water cooling for my 6600gt,,1st i removed the stock cooler and designed my self and made a watercooling block with aluminium,,,and guess wat the temp reduced to 45c at idle and never goes more than 51 at load...it costed me about 600rs for tat waterblock.2 months back i made a cpu block with copper but temp reduced was lower compared to this gps waterblock.so if u r intrested in finding ow i have made these w/b mail to me...

hey thatz very innovative of u , and for 600 bucks , it sure will rock .

why dont u write a tutorial and post it here , I myself was an aggrieved 6600 GT AGP user until i got my zalman ( thanks to avi_avdhaut ) for that .
But as far as i have read , these temps arent really a concern since the core slowdown threshold is 145 degrees , there mus be a reason for that , besides i havent had any problems , my loads used to reach 80 . But nevertheless.

So waiting for the tutorial mate , reps will sure come your way . :hap2:

ok this is the tutorial for making ur own water block for big 6600gt,,,,the procedures goes like this;-
1st bye a silver block with 3/4 inch width with 4"x4" measurements,also take another with 2mm width.total'll cost u about 140rs.
then take out ur stock gpu block and make measurements same as ur gpu block,,,then go to a profile cutting shop and cut it into the shape he'll take about 20rs...
then its time for milling,,,draw the channels for the water and give the block for milling,,,it costs around 200rs...then go to brazing and joun those two blocks, clean it in milling.then go to the buffing shop there they'll clean the block as new as newone,,,then on the gpu side it should be very smooth,so go to surface grinding shop it'll cost u about 30rs,,,and take a copper housing at local hardware wender and fix it with some araldite,,,tats it ur own gpu block at around 600rs...this is very pain job so if u can spare atleast 3-4 days u can do it,,,in hyderabad all these works are done at sanathnagar...or fathenagar...
