Guys, i am desperately in need of help. My display used to go blank suddenly coupled with a system freeze. So i removed the gfx card and it started working fine. I found that one of the capacitors got BLOWN in the card. Called rashi peripherals and they denied to repair it as the only option available for them is replacement for under warranty cards and they dont care about non warranty cards nor they have the spares for them. I even called Hitech in Mount road who is known to have the best chiplevel servicing facility as far as i know. But they service only motherboards and capacitors with the same voltage range are not available with them so they rejected.

Now what should i do friends ?. Please help. It has been just 2 yrs i bought it guys. Its out of warranty as xfx singapore, gives only 2yrs warranty unlike xfx india where warranty is 3 yrs. IN order to save some money i ended buying there. Please suggest me a service centre in Chennai where they do such repairs guys.

TE members, will be very grateful if anyone can donate that capacitor who is in possession of a damaged xfx 9600gt card.

No clue regarding the repairs but what power supply were you using with the system?

Can't read out the specs of the blown cap, can you post it here, the voltage seems to be 10V,

power supply is corsair cx400. pc working fine after removing gfx card. So the capacitor should be replaced. I heard that these are smd capacitors. Normal capacitors are available with the same rating. But smd capacitors are nowhere available. the normal ones are big and sell for 5 bucks. So will the size fit in the capacitor area ? Is it advisable to use these even if it fits in ?

update - except the one which is blown, the others are smd capacitors. The tht ones (through hole technology) are the ones which have lead legs and this mustt be a tht capacitor i guess.

Ok i have decided to buy that which retails for 5 bucks. But is it safe to buy these cheap ones ?. If there is any brand which will not harm my card then plz suggest it. Where in richie street i can get imported capacitors guys ?

You can try to get your hand on a dead 9600, friends or the raddiwallas, that cap might be in othe gpu/mobo as well. You can give it a shot

None of my friends have PC guys. So no question of getting from them. Anyway will try to source it from electronic shop...
