Graphic Cards XFX card, warranty issues

Guys i have bought a HD5770 now here are the details.

XFX 1GB one.i had to pay 9.2k for it.

Ok no problem guys leave it the most important situation is here what they told when i asked about the gurantee.
the guy at the shop told me all the cards arriving now only have 1year warranty now this one also have one year warranty.They say the warranty period have been reduced by all the companies.

Even i inquired about the nvidia GTX465 and got the same answer.

(But my earlier 8500GT had 1year warranty from the shop where i purchased it but had 3years warranty sticker on the box.That warranty service was also provided).

Here they say only one year warranty.

Guys i want to know the exact price of xfx HD5770.
and most importantly how much gurantee period it offers.

already mail has been dispatched to all xfx,rashi, amd and that store also
If anybody is free kindly can he accompany me to that shop tomorrow.(mumbai persons)

What should i do kindly advise.

BUt he has specifically mentioned XFX.and XFX still provided 3 yr warranty as far as know

If your box has 3yrs sticker on it YOU HAVE complete 3 yrs warranty. Products arriving after Aug2007(that do not have 3yrs sticker on them) have 1yrs instead of standard 3yrs wrrty.

I could not get my boar replaced with a bill but when I brought the box with the wrrty. sticker on it only then Rashi agreed to replace it and believe me you'll have to fight your way through to get a replacement or warranty claim. XFX guys will not do any replacement for you AFAIK, I was in touch with their customer care but they told me to check the distributors policies again and again.

XFX provides 3years for other regions(EU/Canada/UK/USA) but for Asia-Pacific wrrty. has been reduced.

Acc. to his post, he s already bought the xfx one.

He wants to know -

1. The exact market price of xfx HD5770.

2. ^ warranty details. ( 1 /3 yrs ? )

3. If anyone could accompany him to the dealer to clarify the warranty details.

AFAIK ,

1. 8 k-8.2`ish since sapphire ones arnd 7.7 and xfx is know for its slight premium ( not sure , long time since i`ve been to lamington ) ... let some one else also comment.

2. Whatever it says on the box sticker. The dealer has nothing to do with it. Its rashi that take cares of warranty.

bad decision(overpriced, less warranty quality and quantity)

op, it would be best if you can convince the store to take back your card and get something from sapphire or msi instead

5770 costs in the range of 7.5k-8.3k based on model(reference or custom)

6850 is available at 10k+ that would have been a wiser decision

Anyways guys i have called rashi and they have confirmed three years warranty.

It seems XFX pricing is a bit different.After some research i found XFX price range starts from 8.9- 9.2K. For other cards its 8.5k.

Dude i tried to get my hands on the HD6850 only but they dont have any other models.was asking for 13k. And the guys working there seems noobs.
HD6850 is almost equvalent to GTX460.

Dude lol lol what i meant was why should i spend few ks extra to get 9-12 fps more.

My XFX 9500GT came with a 3 Year Warranty.

I think you should query some TE Dealer about the Warranty. They will be able to shed some light on the issue.
 
I am using xfx 5770 overclocked reference card in last year sep from directly akshay enterprise kolkat @10k. They gave me 2 years warranty on it.

yes you are right but it all boils down to the res you play at, budget, your idea of "smooth" gameplay(read FPS), rest of hardware config
Personally i think 5770 is a beast till 1600x900 but is much too costly at 9.2k

You have already overspent 1.6k for the same fps :P You said you did all the research and ended up paying 20% more. You could have posted before buying but alas.

Sapphire HD5770 - 7.6k shipped from yantra online
Sapphire HD6850 - 10k shipped from yantra online

Or you could have even opted for the OCed custom version MSI Hawk HD5770 ~ 8.2k+shipping from SMC Intl.

Even the XFX card costs only Rs.8275 in Chennai (VAT inclusive) and GPU prices are usually steep in Chennai compared to Mumbai and NP, Delhi.
