Xiaomi Mumbai is quoting her 7.5k to replace the display. Xiaomi Bangalore quotes 3.5 k, but there is no way we can get the phone from Mumbai to Bangalore.
plus they are not sure on how long this will take.

and the support exec didnt even find it funny. Told me that as you got it online, you got discount.
Actual prices is supposedly 10k and hence 7.5k for the screen :-/

The screen hardly costs 3k at mostIf i am not wrong.

i saw that. i am ok paying up 3.5k, but need service in mumbai not bangalore.
still have escalated with fb/twitter.lets see if either of flipkart or xiaomi step up and deliver

Same here, I am facing same experience in Pune, they told me 4.7k for replacing display of Redmi 1s.

Need more service centers in India.

I am sure we can challenge this 'higher prices for spares' problem in consumer court.
Redmi 1s has been selling at the rate of 6K and without rebates/subsidies.
They can't force consumers to pay hefty amounts for spares.

Buy it from aliexpress and replace it through any service guy. it costs less than 2K buying it from aliexpress.
