Well one myth I have a problem with is the

"Optimization Myths - Windows 95/98/ME vs XP Reliability"

I don't entriely agree with the myth, but a lot of my friends do. Perhaps not without reason. No one ever came up with anything like the blaster virus for 98. I mean those pesky worms can kill your computer without ur doing a thing wrong.

i dont agree with that man, there are equally vicious viruses waiting for windows 95/98/me.
also, reliablity also means running without glitches, crashes, downtimes etc.
from my personal experience all i can say is, i have to go out of my way to get bsod on my xp.
for me xp is the best ever os from microsoft's stable

Virus threats affect popular products, it's just a matter of common sense or installing a decent firewall and updating your os regularly.

Don't think it's fair to blame xp for the sasser incident - actually it is as ms should've foreseen this - but 98 and ME would've been just as vulnerable had enough people beeing using them to motivate the attackers to target those 2.

Compared to xp pro, 98 is complete trash, too many crashes and bsod's.
XP needs no tweaking either (other than disabling autoplay and BITS), it runs awesome with full eyecandy on an 800mhz with just 128mb.

hey nice article ! :)

if you disable most of the services , you will definitely see even more improved performance because of released memory resources
