I Edited A Registry In XP Pro To Sort Out File List In The Current Order.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
"ShellState"=hex:24,00,00,00,33,80,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\
01,00,00,00,0d,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
Unfortunately Because Of It(I Think),The Start Menu Is Now Of Windows 98 Style.How Do I Restore XP Type Start Menu??Please Help!!

I Don't Think So.It'll Disable Some Of The Other Changes I've Made.What I Can't Figure Out Is How Could A Shell State Edition Affect The Start Menu?How Do I Restore It?

why not take a bck of that particular reg key value from ur friends machine and merge it to ur machine? ofcourse u could always take a bck of ur machines full registry before doing this.

another way is to restore a previous registry from the many backups that windows xp stores - maybe a day before u did that change??

I think you can change that setting somewhere in gpedit.msc (group policy editor) I'm not sure, but it sounds like you have just switched to "classic style" menu. Just got to start> run and type gpedit.msc, and poke around in there for it.
