Graphic Cards XT and GT.Are they the same?

I am planning to buy a nvidia geforce 6800 based graphics card-one which packs decent high end performance.I ve been having this hunch for quite sometime regarding Nvidia cards when I was looking for models.I noticed there is a GT version and a XT version(eg 6800xt,6800gt) and also GS.

Are these two the same in performance or are they just names(XT and GT) used by different vendors?If there s a difference which will be the better of the two??

P.S.:-Does anyone know the prices of these two cards the 6800 gt and xt ??If you do please mention it with the company name.Is the XFX and BiG B or G good companies?
 
if they are same y they will name it different :D

AFAIR GT has 16 pipes where XT is 12 or 8 .........

u won't find GT tho ..... i maybe wrong .......

but i will say .... u better off with 7 series cards rather than 6 series ....
 
You'll get palit for 8.5/9k but not easily available, the zebronics branded palit will be 9.8k, Big is around 10/10.5k, XFX & Leadtek around 11/11.5 k.
 
There is quite a lot of difference between a XT and GT.
6800XT should perform close to a 6600GT and a 6800GT will pwn it big time.
