Yahoo account compromised

So I woke up and logged in my gmail account and saw that someone attempted to hack into my yahoo account last night and was successful after some attempts and changed my password somehow.
So I used the reset option to change it again.

The good thing, it's an id created just to reserve the name on yahoo as I have an id with same name on gmail. And I don't use it ever on any site.

But should I be worried with anything? I guess not
And why would I be hacked? For fun maybe? And how did he get my password?
It wasn't a tough password but still I wanna know why, who and how?

This is common with yahoo, long back some did the same to me and till today i have not been able to claim my account. Despite making ISD Calls to yahoo USA.

Also around 10-12 years back i met a hacker online who was like you give him the id and within 10 minutes he would give you all the details

Try enabling the 2-step password authentication. I think http://www.askdavetaylor.com/enable_yahoo_mail_two-step_authentication_security/ this should help

Didn't know they had 2 step verification for yahoo. Enabling now
