Yahoo mail not receiving email after prolonged non use, sending email works.

My wife’s yahoo email id is pretty old. She has never used it in last 10 years and she even forgot her password. Somehow I was able to reset the password and got into the account. The account had no emails at all.

Now I sent a test email to my email Id and the mail was sent fine. When I sent email from my email id to her’s it said undeliverable.
I wanted to reset her Instagram password and that I cannot since it sends email to this id which never comes.

When I checked the bounced back email, the error says


554: delivery error: de Requested mail action aborted.



Anyone knows what the issue is and how to fix it?

If it was a yahoo.com mail id, try checking again with yahoo.co.in as the extension. I don't know why, but one of my mail ids ran into similar issues, and changing the .com to .co.in fixed the issue.

It was originally .Co.in only and it recognizes that fine.

She already has gmail as primary but this id also exists and we need to use if for sometime.

try sending a proper email ( one with content and headline like a newsletter or something )
You can also try forwarding all emails to a particular gmail id in settings and see if its doing that.

try adding yahoo account to gmail and see if you can send / receive messages.
