Yahoo has released an updated version of its Yahoo Weather app for Android with similar interface like the iOS version.

What a laugh. Everybody goes on about the design. Well, how dependable is this app.

Do we use doppler radar in india for weather ? No.

A friend asked me once whether it was safe to go out, i told him accuweather says sunny. He went out and got absolutely drenched. He does not ask me this question any more.

hehe, that's what we all do. Then make a call whether to dress appropriately or not.

But this is about new fancy tech right

Morale of the story is UI means nothing without a supporting infrastructure to back it up.

There is no refresh interval setting in this redesigned app. Wonder how Yahoo missed it! Other than this glaring omission, one of the best designed weather apps.

@blr_p I obviously agree functionality is key, but we do use Doppler radar for weather in India. How do I know? I can see the weather surveillance radar of my city from my house( and I'm not even in a metro).

ok, so how frequently is weather data updated for this app and which sources does it use.

Seems its for the armed forces rather than for weather.

@blr_p I don't use that app. I'm only saying my local weather station has a Doppler radar. Also, many cities have and use Doppler radar for weather. Hyderabad started using it from 2010-11 as far as I remember
