^Yep, used for local temp's and some m/c info, but the possiblity is endless, only problem though is that it takes about 10-15mb memory for every single widget rendered, it has been posted here :

i have used them when Yahoo didn't purchased the software ...... actually the software previously came as Konfabulator and was a paid software ..... then yahooo purchased the company and made it free .... as dip said it make the system slow and booting takes more time tooo ....

I use the default widgets in OS X.. they come in real handy.. some of them like the wikipedia widget is awesome.. also the google PR widget is handy
