We were discussing about this at the meet. What possibly could be in a 9 crore bike? Ideas thrown around were platinum chassis, diamonds all around, engine running on air :bleh:, and a "reload" feature ala NFS. If you crash, just press R, and you get a brand new bike :ohyeah:

But alas, none of our wonderful ideas have been fulfilled. It is just the YZR - M1. And the 9 crore cost is after including 110% custom duty.

Here

and they hope to sell it? lunatics...

id rather buy a RR Phantom, Merc Slk 350 a Hayabusa, an R1, build a new garagge for these beauties, build a banglow next to it and live in it and still have enough cash to fuel these babes for a decade... :P

Well, they want to capitalise on the fact that it is the World chamionship winning bike of Rossi...........

and people will buy it. They are actually pricing it at around 1 million $.

Nope it wont....

Saumil!!! what are you saying!!! The only things that will come close to this are RCVs of Honda...

Wot I just like 'em. Even though the Ducati was fastest (even more than the Yamaha) in the shootout Overdrive carried a few months back.

Chennai meet intrusion: Probably comes preloaded with Windows Vista

Its teh M1.. its ought to cost that much.. a Evo road car costs roughyl about INR 32 lacs.. but the WRC version costs a cool $500,000 :)

Actually, the RCVs are better but the M1 is piloted by The Doctor, managed by the same guy who was with Honda when Rossi rode for them!!

@saumil- a production model, even a limited edition souped up one is no match for the MotoGP machines!!
In fact, the WSBK bikes fall short too!!
Think of it as the F1 of bikes!!

Hey Zhopudey....u forgot to mention the great discussion we had on the insurance claims from an accident the person had while riding it:bleh:

Well am assuming you do not watch MotoGP much. This is not a production bike. Everything has been painstakingly designed and perfected. And it can outrun/outperform/outbrake any production based naturally aspirated superbike you get in the market now :) I guess Yamaha will not alter much of the engine's internals for this production run as they would be running 800cc motors from next season..

Yaar, still under any case, a 9c pricetag for a bike is simply unacceptable...wot were they thinking, they'll find buyers here in india...i mean, yah, there are a lot of rich spoilt kids in our country but still, no sane father, worth his money(black or white..) will ever think of gifting a 9crore bike to his son!!

In tht case, i totally agree with Rave tht had i got tht kindof money to spend...

suggestions for 9 crore...spend some qual time (vandal time :ohyeah: ) with some of bollyw..... best

Thats retarded, a 990CC bike as expensive as the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 the world most expensive and most powerfull car...

The Veyron in India would be more like 13 crores..... The price is 1 million Euros. That is approx 6 crores. Add sales tax and then the Customs and duties.....

Dont look at that bike as "it-costs-9-crores.." I am sure even if u were willing to spend that much, u wudnt probably find one for sale :bleh:
Its more of a "its-worth-9-crores" bike. It took Yam that much money to develop the bike from scratch.. the R&D, the manufacturing cost, the testing cost et al :)

In all probability, the bike's "cost" (as in the amount of money spent on developing it) took about a million dollars.. just to create the hype indiatimes auto included teh customs/import duties n projected the figure to 9 crores.. ask them if they cud help u get one here, and u probably wont hear from them :P
