Yet another USB modem buying advice thread

One of my friend is looking for a USB modem, a cheap, VFM one.

Right now i have thought of Huawei E1731 from ebay selling at 1.3k

Anyone using this modem, how is it? Any heating, discounting issue with it?

Please post your advice, suggestion etc.

I am using it for last 4-5 months, I very much am satisfied with it.

Haven't faced any frequent disconnection problem or any over heating ( I have also used umg1831 so can say E1731 doesn't get as hot as umg 1831). Another good thing is E1731 can make and receive calls with the latest Mobile Partner.

I had bought it from Airtel showroom and later unlocked it.
