PC Peripherals yikes...is this normal?

decided to clean my comp today :D
blew the whole thing clear of dust and ran speedfan.

These are the idle temps.

Those HDD temps are really scaring me!. After 30 mins of PoP: WW, the cpu is at 39C and the HDDs at 45C. Is this normal or should i look for a HDD cooler now?

room temp is at 28C. At the time i am posting this HDD0 is at 41C and HDD1 at 39C
 
In case of heavy-duty data trasfer those temps r normal..my 80GB 'cuda is at a const. temp range of 44-46*C.
 
^^^ yeah, just suspend a 80mm fan over it all the time...temps will drop to arnd 35* on heavy data transfers...
 
Anything under 45 is not a cause of worry. If it goes beyond 50, then you shud look for hard drive cooling... as ppl have said above, a single 80mm fan blowing over them shud be more than enuf.
 
My 120GB Seagate 'Cuda SATA howers around 40C. So then your temps are normal...

BTW, what is that ? Fan RPM 29 ???

i have no idea...i have a 80mm fan and im guessing its that and the PSU fan :S

btw..ran a 1M cycle of super-pi and temps were:

CPU - 40C
HD0 - 43C
HD1 - 41C

test took 1min 9 secs to complete :(
 
I picked up this info from the Fujitsu HDD site....

The service life is depending on the environment temperature.

Therefore, the user must design the system cabinet so that the average Drive Electronics surface temperature is as low as possible.

• DE surface temperature: 40°C or less 5 years
• DE surface temperature: 41°C to 45°C 4.5 years
• DE surface temperature: 46°C to 50°C 4 years
• DE surface temperature: 51°C to 55°C 3.5 years
• DE surface temperature: 56°C to 60°C 3 years
• DE surface temperature: 61°C and more Strengthen cooling power so that DE surface temperature is 60°C or less
