Your Gaming Backlog/Progress Report!

Finished Gow Ragnorak.

First the negative- quite a lot of backtracking and combat was also getting bit repetitive for me.

Maybe I was rushing through the game or dont know if you guys will agree but game mainstory could have been easily 4-5 hrs shorter.

Positive- Visuals were stunning. Cant believe even today Ps4 can pull that off. At times it was Wow!.
brilliant.

Overall it is a great game. too bad I could not and will not be able to give it much time into it.
Thor fight was really great. Very well done .

What is your specs?
I have 3050rtx 4gb
24gb ram
5600H

Will it work on my pc? Any idea .
I have gone through the requirements. It requires quite a high specs system it seems.

A laptop huh...Yeah it will workz though you will have to reduce the settings ofc but then the only good thing about AW2 is good graphics other than that it's meh....

Sorry my bad...yes its a laptop.
But if it was pc also dont think the specs would have made much difference.

Yes I dont mind reducing the settings but if it too much then no use.
I liked the first game so disappointing to know AW2 is not that great .

Nah man, the game is absolutely brilliant. It's one of the best games I've played all year. Remedy has crafted a masterpiece. Play it for yourself, as each person will have their own opinion (although the 88% Metacritic score and the number of awards won at The Game Awards should give you a good idea ;))

As for whether your laptop can run it, you will have to play at 1080p low settings, with DLSS (quality or balanced) turned on. The game is super intensive but very stable.

For reference, I have an RTX 3080+7800X3D. At 2K, maxed out settings (no RT enabled) with DLSS Quality mode, I get 65-70 FPS in outdoor areas.

My PC specs are in my signature mate. I'm running the game on Medium settings with SSR on @1080p and it's running smooth without any noticeable stuttering. I have VSync, Motion Blur off.

You can check this link to see some good settings for running the game:

Best PC settings for Alan Wake 2

I'm getting back into gaming and I've just started Black Mesa and Assetto Corsa.

Found Assetto Corsa interesting at first but after a while my laptimes stopped improving much so I sort of gave up haha. I use mouse steering and if I continue to enjoy it I might buy a sim rig.

Black Mesa feels good, I did Porter first so I can see the same vibe here, looking forward to this and then Half Life 2. I missed out on both when they came out.

Completed Alan Wake 2 (PC).

What a game... dark, gritty, twisted and a delicious slice of masterful storytelling! Not that I loved every minute of it, there were certain things I didn't quite end up liking, but for the most part this is one of the most polished and well presented games I have ever played. A feat by Remedy... they sure can rock my boat!

I am still playing through witcher 3. Finished main quest few days back after ~200 hrs. Its as good as they say, very well done.
I might start reading witcher books later. I used to read a lot of novels long ago, but then stopped. This might be a good way to start again.

One thing i would say is to not to try to go after every ? missions. By default they are hidden on the map and that's good as they are mostly filler stuff and this is not a game to played as a ubisoft game.
That's the only time i got bored a bit, then stopped doing that and reverted to default map. Now playing though expansions one by one. Usually i get bored after playing a game for so long, but not here.

New gen does tend to crash. I had to disable monitor sleep and used a mod to stop crash due to raytracing among other tweaks, and now its pretty stable. Even mouse look was stuttering a lot by default which is really odd. But easily fixed by reducing mouse sensitivity i think.
Also using a FSR frame gen mod now which might improve visual smoothness - and it does not seem to cause any negative effect at all. Do not notice any artifacts or latency issues.
So DLDSR4k + DLSS performance + FSR Frame gen is what i settled on while playing on 2k screen.
This game can be very pretty at times, not photo realistic but nice.

I'm midway playing "Kingdom come: Deliverance" -- I've never been a fan of RPG games but this one's changed me. It's also on sale right now, so if anyone else is curious:

Story is 11/10, unexpected.
Fighting/controls are a tad bit hard/confusing at first, but don't let it deter you

F1 Manager 23. Started playing it like F1 Manager 22 and ended up going over cost cap, had to halt al development in final third of season, could not do design research as well for next season. From 2nd fastest car, dropped to 5th fastest car. Endured really difficult second season, ended up 4th. This time, was well below cost cap and was able to upgrade most facilities. Into 3rd season and currently standing 3rd, in close fight with the Mercs for 2nd.

PS: I am part of Tifosi, dont ask which team I picked :D

Completed Divinity Original Sins 2 in 72hrs, great game. Played this after Baldur's Gate 3. I will say the lack of dice roll in DOS2 is superior to BG3.

I was not interested in trying an isometric view turn-based combat game before BG3, but now I am a fan. Larian is great.

One of the best games I have played in the last few years...played it twice around and enjoyed it both times.

Started The Witcher 3, with an aim of finishing it this time :woot:
Next gen crashed a lot for me, esp around novigrad with RT. There is a VRAM memory leak bug.
Mod fix, this fixes it 99% - https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8083
Also had to disable monitor sleep else it crashed when monitor timed out ( when afk )

FSR3 framegen mod also works nicely with this with minimal artifacts.

Finished Hearts of stone. Great expansion.
