I am an animator by profession, and I heard that AMD is better processor than pentium for graphics. This laptop is quite bulky, almost 4 kg. But I do not need to carry it all the way.

Your opinion pls.

Only for desktops and that was about half a year back ;)

Intel rules all the way for notebooks, pick a Core 2 Duo based config with atleast 1GB RAM and a dedicated 256MB GPU (like the 7400/7600GO)

keep in mind to have a dedicated GPU if u plan to to do animation...also Intel core 2 duo is far better than AMD turion...also get atleast 1-2gb ram, 2gb preferred

Configure a Core 2 Duo based lappy online on Dell's US website and ask your friend to get an E1705 instead (customised ofcourse).. ;)

Work on that, post the config & cost as per website here & we're here to suggest modification thereon.. :)

Get the Asus G1 if you can... I have looked around, asked few guys here n its the best bang for the buck...its abt 1800$.

yeah get a c2d based laptop with 2gb ram....

or u can try asus s96j in india with 2gb ram.....x1600...core2duo for 62k..

i hv it and its great value for money...
