1) LA Noire
If you like Noire based and the old school movies which celebrated the depression era, this game will be foremost in your list.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game. Rockstar really delivered a knockout punch here. Though the side missions were worthy of being left out.

2) Tekken (Dark resurrection/Tekken 5 on ps3)
The quick get in, get out game topper.

3) Rayman Origins
Purely based on the concept and innovative elements used. Else Uncharted 2 was supposed to be here.

1) NFS Porsche -
I will never grow tired of this game and is still the best NFS according to me.
NFS franchise has become a mess trying to aim to be emulate success of other games like Grid, Midnight Club, Burnout etc., The recent NFS games have tried to take it back to it's glory days but they are not focusing on what made those days glorious.
Till the sixth installment NFS followed a simple formula - 'Exotic cars Exotic Locations'
Despite this idea being adopted by the first 6 games what makes the fifth game so special considering it had only 1 manufacturer?
The tracks are beautiful to drive on and each track has it's own personality whether you were driving in an industrial zone with a sulphuric yellow tint, driving on a early morning through pyrenees or a snowy alps.
Cars well they are all porsche but you the driving mechanic was such that you would never grow tired of driving in the game especially the '95 911 Turbo which is my favourite in the game. The driving mechanic was the perfect mix of simulation and arcade. Unlike it's predecessors where the quickest way to go around a circuit was to rely on the walls on the side of the road, in this game you were rewarded for braking.
You could enter a corner really fast, brake hard, feel the rear become a bit loose as you oversteer a bit, you apply the right amount of correctional steering, step on the accelerator and drive away. Or you could try being absolutely smooth which too was fun.
The graphics are still beautiful to look at and the game is still amazing to play.
By the way I think NFS Highstakes still has the best intro.

2) Oni -
By today's standards this game might not be much to look at and there is nothing here that has not been done by some other game by now but that doesn't make Oni any less charming.
The game was created by the same guys that made Halo - Bungie but why do we need to talk about it here? This game has enough merits to stand on it's own.
The whole game right from the cutscenes to the story and appearance seem to be inspired by anime which is a good thing.
The gameplay is the biggest strength of this game. You can use weapons or melee attacks. Unlike other games melee attacks which are limited to hitting a fellow opponent with a rifle butt infact this game focused more on hand to hand combat and had a variety of moves that you could do.
With a gun the game turned into a third person shooter which at times felt a bit clunky but was necessary at times. Nothing compares to sneaking up behind an enemy jumping on his neck and swinging on it till it snaps. There is a bit of platforming and puzzle solving involved but that don't distract you from combat for long.
All in all a very good game to play.

3) GTA Vice City -
I started with this game instead of GTA 3 but the first GTA I ever played was GTA London 1969 on PSX at a video game parlor. This game introduced me to 3D GTA and it was one helluva introduction.
Unlike the murky GTA 3 or the overwhelming San Andreas this game was perfectly balanced.
The game was loosely based on Scarface with a psychotic character as the main character in a Miami inspired city in the 80s with music of that era.
The characters were interesting, the city had a character, radio stations weren't crappy, missions were interesting and some cutscenes were absolutely hilarious.
The fact that Tommi Vercetti was his own man and did as he pleased made the game even better. You were not Claude Speed silently taking orders from someone or CJ who got conned and gave you the feeling that he was never in control. Atleast with Claude you felt like a bad ass silent assassin. Nico Bellic is not much of an improvement and the only other characters I can think of that somewhat close to Tommi are Toni Cipriani and Huang Lee. They both get the job done and can be a bit extreme at times.
The overall effect this game has on you is that it makes you feel that you are right there. Something that even GTA 4 and it's expansion with all their realism crap fail to do.

Mine top three games would be:

1. TES V Skyrim: It has an immense open world with a great game play having huge customization options. Plus you can play it for hundereds of hours without repetitiveness. Also the game has a great story. Killing dragons, fighting out dungeons, clearing caves and castles, enchanting weapons and armor, magic, building your home and marriage, and so so much. Never ending game play.

2. Fallout 3 (GOTY): Again from the same developer. This game did change the course of gaming in my opinion as it was the best open world game at the time of release and had an absolutely brilliant game play. The story was also one which you would never forget (Like one of Bioshock Infinite). You begin the game as a small child living in vault, in a world with nuclear weapons, you grow up there and then one day vault door opens and you face the sunlight for the first time and your journey begins in the huge open world.

3. San Andreas: This one I loved more than GTA IV as it had more options as a GTA game should have. Large island, flying planes, gang wars, etc. It had things like getting hungry, swimming skills, overeating and you vomit health, which makes it a perfect GTA. Even though IV had better detailing but San Andreas has its own place in every body's heart. The story of the game was also much matured than that in IV. Plus I love CJ. I was also hoping for CJ to come in V but but.....

Road Rash
Portal 1/2
POP Two Thrones

It was a difficult call even had NFS MW, CS 1.6 and AC2 on list!

My top 3 are :
1. Max Payne: This was one of my first games on PC. I was in 6th standard back then. I never used to care much about storyline just the good old shooting :P . MP changed it all. The story was so engrossing even for a 6th standard child.
2.Counter Strike CZ/GTA VC/ GTA San Andreas/NFS Most Wanted(Old one): Countless hours were spend on these games. Never got bored f these. No other game has occupied me as much as these three.
3.Metro 2033: Finally a relatively new title in my list. The environment was so creepy. Totally engaged me. The librarians scared the hell out of me :P. Gameplay had nothing special but the environment and sound effects made the game come really alive.

Honorable Mentions: FIFA(all versions), COD (all versions)
About to start: Mass effect series
:D

1. Prince of persia: Warrior within
The story, the music, the environment.. Everything was fantastic.. the most awesome moments were the Dahaka chases..

2. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City
Because of Batman (Duh!!)

3.Far Cry 3
Vaas.. Vaas.. Vaas..
"Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is??" :p
