If it is a rare item, then people are definitely entitled to sell it for more if they please to do so. That is perfectly justified because there may be members who are ready to buy a rare item if they can only it even if its at a higher cost. If I have a rare game from the 80's that is highly sought after and worth 10000 bucks, you cannot expect me to sell it for 20 bucks just because I originally bought it for 100 bucks.

The main problem in this case is that rather than being honest, the seller chose to spin a web of lies. If the seller had simply said that MX5021 is eol but still much sought after and hence he wants to charge accordingly, it would have been a different matter.

Yep, you are right too, I should been specific on the rare part too, I dint mean to generalise that too. its different from case to case, whats rare (vintage/antique) or rare to purchase in india, in rare stock etc.. I myself would not hesistate to pay premium price for it if I crave for that stuff.

even if its not rare, anyone can charge greater money. else the whole profession of brokers would (pun not intended) go broke. While I'm not a big fan of brokers, they do add a bit of liquidity to the market at the cost of their margins ( your stuff will get sold now instead of a month later if you need cash now), and you may not have to wait for something as well

there maybe a lot of members but i know one who has a total of 54 threads, all are market threads except 3. out of which only 2 are non market threads & one is WTB thread, i wonder how he qualified but i do not want to get into details.

In any case - apart from a brief interval where mods could approve join requests for member's market - as of now only Admins can change user privileges.
 
The guy was not frank and was not Honest but posting his personal details and making fun of it is not the way to go in this forum. We should resolve the current issue.

Discusing about his personal matter does not seem mature. I request the OP to remove the link.

I am in no way related to him. This is one way of keeping the thread clean.

There has been some latest developments of which I have informed spacey.

Didnt know a guy could lie this much for just a 6 grand speaker set.
 
I have always had this inkling about this guy. He always placed a very high price on stuff as if he is out to make profit from it.Seems like my gut feeling was right. Also I dont think he has cheated anyone, he just wants to make some money by reselling older stuff to newer guys. :p

Also I hate the fact that there are some people here who just jump onto every other sale and buy stuff at lower prices only to later sell them at the same or even higher price outside this forum. This leaves the genuine buyer (who really might have used the thing in his pc) high and dry. There are some buyers here who keep on buying graphics card for that matter and then later sell them.I was in search for a graphics card some time back and these people kept hogging at every other sale thread.

Anything that was publicly kept on the Internet for everyone to see can hardly be called personal details. There is no need to remove any details because those details may help identify him and prevent someone else from falling victim. If he wants to let the whole world know that he is a pervert and what he looks like, that's his way of exercising freedom. If those things are personal, then they wouldn't be on the internet or at the very least he should be the one removing them from the internet.

If you check the post history of this guy, he seems to be one such case. While trying to sell stuff to make profits, on the other side, he also seems to be low-balling in others sales using the most absurd of basis. In one thread related to Logitech speakers, he was throwing some weird logic on how Delhi prices are 1.5~2k lower than the rest of India, so seller should reduce prices accordingly.

Good that people have got so much info about him now. I am guessing that many people here are members of other forums as well and if you spot him making a deal on that forum, alert those unsuspecting users.
