The answer is I don't know. Perhaps, me and my friends make sure to take advantage of us/our colleagues traveling
abroad and so are able to buy new gadgets at reasonable price (from abroad) that gives us an option to try them
out and be able to sell them for no or almost no loss.

at STMicroelectronics (no. 2 in the World in Chip Design, just behind Intel). Been there since last 14 years and going strong, with

That said, I'll gladly stop sharing the items (that me/my friends want to sell in order to make room for new ones) with TE members
if that's what people want and if that's the verdict of the mods.

Yes, I agree that I should contribute to other sections as well. And I do find some interesting topics/threads in other sections,
but somehow miss out on doing my bit, sometimes due to lack of the full knowledge on the topic. I can not put comments that
may mislead those reading my comments.
But I do agree, that I need to gather the courage and confidence to share my views with other members.

Lying on the other hand is something which is not morally correct. Though I feel the thread title is a bit too much. One gets mugged like this almost everyday at markets a like gaffar, palika etc... but there we call it smart business.

The thing he did wrong was to lie about the age of the product and hence its condition, this is the only thing he could be held liable for.
Lying about the pricing etc., although morally incorrect, nothing much can be done in that regard. Things have been sold in the past for a profit, and there is no foolproof measure to stop it from happening completely in the future too.

Moreover, I think the mods should now close this thread, as the point has been put across, received by the community at large, and possibly a decision has been taken about the concerned member. Lest this thread should fall prey to a free for all mud slinging contest, as happened yesterday with some extremely offensive comments being posted by some overzealous members. We don't want that now, do we?

I sold my MX5021 for more than what it cost new, after a couple of years.
The buyer (if he posts) can tell you about that experience and the performance of that set, which I personally modded.
It is not a problem to charge more for effort or rarity - which is why a lot of 1 anna coins go for thousands of rupees.
The problem is lying - simply say you are charging more because the buyer will be desperate/unable to procure the same thing elsewhere. To buy or not is the buyers' choice.

I too had a bad experience with your_majesty..
I had opened a market [FS] thread for a laptop drive. To which he said that he will come and pick-up the drive from a place near my home on coming friday.. So the drive was on hold for him expecting his interest as genuine.. But he didn't come on the fixed day, I called him and he said that he is out of station for personal reasons and will pick-up the drive on nxt monday.. and that monday never came..
Although the drive was sold later to some other member at TE, but I lost a deal because of him...
