YouTube prepares to take on Hulu

Google has announced some new deals which would enable YouTube to become a worthy challenger to Hulu.

The search engine industry leader said that YouTube would soon feature more full-length movies and TV shows.

They are also in the process of launching new advertising features on the service to boost revenues.

YouTube announced new sections Movies and Shows on the service designed for these upcoming videos.

YouTube is already working with Universal on their recently announced Vevo project. This is a good boost to that effort.

YouTube’s Shiva Rajaraman said: “It’s a first step in a long commitment.â€

Google has partnered with a long list of companies for this new section. Partners include:

Sony Corp., Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., CBS Corp., Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Liberty Media Corp, Disco

What are you being so happy about. It is obvious that they would not like Indians seening any movies like any other service yet. It happened with MTV and than with HULU. Bah!
 
Wah, you want to download that crappy quality stuff from youtube, Its like you say there are no better options available. Because, in the end, you are still cheating the system, and what you are doing is illegal.
 
Actually, there are quite a few hindi movies that are available on the site, Deewana, Hulchul etc. I don't expect many more as our movie industry is hardly reputed to be forward thinking.

On the other hand, it will be quite a win for some of the lesser channels in India to strike a deal with youtube and upload their shows to the site. I wonder which of them will take the first step?
