//thanks alot

Do you want to try going for a sealed box rather than ported one. that will reduce the boooooom substantially. IF you tried it let me also know the effect

You're sure you're ready for this?

The amps in the Z5500 are not too bad actually. The major issues are with the pod and the satellite and sub driver.

The only area of improvement is the power supply. Logitech undersized the transformer and it is not capable of doing much.

A total replacement of the satellite drivers and the addition of a small baffle step inductor for each of them is the first thing to do. Replace the wires all round. Suitable drivers are the Hi-Vi B3N, the Fostex 3" drives, and even the Mark audio CHR 70 (this last one is a little big). Jordan/Bandor have substitutes but these are out of the price range. The original can also be swapped in for some Tang band 3" retail units.

The sub driver should be replaced, but suitable units are not easily available in India and are too heavy to import, so we'll leave that out. For now, stuffing the port with some loose foam or cotton will help damp the horrible resonances in the port and the driver. Unless you like it.

Finally, if you want to get inside, replace the transformers and recap it. AFAIK the schematics are not available, so you'll have to go by feel when recapping it. Some of the opamps could also be gainfully replaced, but I've never done this so don't know which ones are the target devices.

Have fun.

Wooooooooot ,

Sangram You Have Some Knowledge Of this Buddy .

a simple solution is try some different damping material...if don't want to use a soldering iron. Even if you try to replace the sub and the transformer if you don't have enough damping you are bound to get boominess.
