Zen stone plus: Very bad FM Reception

My brother bought a creative zen stone plus (with speaker) from US a few months back. He came to India a couple of days ago. The FM reception in the unit is very bad. He says it was good in US. Here too sometimes the sound is good (even stereo many a times) but for maximum period just disturbance comes and i am not able to listen anything. I tried in home, on the road but nothing helps.

I dont know whether this is related or not, but does this player have any firmware update feature ?
 
I to own a stone. Its a common problem. FM antenna is too weak. Couldnt find any firmware update. Company claims FM reception is weak in India.
