umm, i would not believe this wrt to the current fiscal crisis which is 100% brought on by mismanagement. Those trade rules affect every developing country but none of them suffer hyperinflation like Zimbabwe. Neither is Zimbabwe at war with anyone.
Look up hyperinflation, not the first time its happened.
The main cause of hyperinflation is a massive and rapid increase in the amount of money, which is not supported by growth in the output of goods and services.
Why is it done ? Because it allows them to hide their spending and avoid a non-subtle tax increase, governments have frequently resorted to printing money to meet their expenses.
It might be wondered why any state would engage in actions that cause or continue hyperinflation. One reason is that often the alternative to hyperinflation is either depression or military defeat.
