I have a zte zxdsl 831aii modem (purchased from BSNL in July 2009), it was working fine until around a week, but lately I am facing problem establishing a link.
When i initially power on the modem all the lights, ie DSl, Internet and PC/USB blink very vigorously for around 2 to 3 minutes and then shut down, restarting the modem does not help neither does resetting.
To get the modem working properly I have to wait at least around 20 minutes after all the indicator lights have died out, after which I again need to restart the router. Once the DSL lamp is stable then there are no connection drops.
I am using bridge mode with default modem setting, absolutely no modifications. Oh and I am still using BSNL, on 500C+ plan in Pune.
Has anyone faced this issue? Is it that my modem has gone bad or is the network line fault.
I haven't contacted the BSNL CC yet, hoping to get some clues about the problem before I bash them.
