help with copy rights

guys i am working on my project which is upgrading a website now i wanna use an image as banner for website

but the problem is that the image is copyrighted and is shared under

Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 2.0

any one please tell me that am i free to use that image on my website or what can be done to get copyrights

sorry for the title but this is urgent i really dont know how to sort out this copyright orshould i worry about it at all

Well, read the Creative Commons document. That should tell you under what conditions you can use the image. If you are afraid of going through the legalese, link it here.

And yeah, I wouldn't use it unless you know that you are authorized to use it.

To be totally clear, just create an image of your own. That is the safest bet.

I think creative commons gives you the right to use it on your site, with proper credit. Anyway, why don't you email the original author just to be certain?
