MTNL Broadband speed capped.

hey guys

i too have issues now, everything was good until friday and now chk this out, am on the 1333 unlimited plan of 1mbps at day and 2mbps at nights and sundays, this is my speedtest.net result

so this is shit, browsing dull after 11am to 6pm and d/l speeds about 75-90k instead of 120 during these hours, however gradually things change after 6pm on a slow basis and its full on from 8pm. I feel MTNL has started capping users depending upon their bandwidth consumption. Just maybe i am not saying its for sure.
 
I'm pretty sure it's not capping, because it's incosistent in terms of speeds. My browing has become a nightmare since the last 4 days, download isn't too good either. Even my phone's (landline) ringer seems to be making a sound which feels like it's drowning. Aren't any other users experiencing the same issue?

Hi m8,

which exchange? coz i too did have an issue with my landline ringer last week maybe tuesday.
 
It is the summer holidays I guess. I experienced the same situation the last year. One the internet surfing kids are back to school, you can expect better speeds.

well i'm on malabar hill exchange yup seems u gotta summon the lines men or like i did put in a complaint to the DGM and make them figure out ur landline, about the net well i guess almost all of us here posting seem affected so nothing u can do bout it atleast.
 
I have never got 2mbps speeds on my line, it was always capped at 1.6 mbps. but my connection is working fine, dont have any issues mentioned here (150 gb data usage as per last bill)...
 
No problems for me(so far)........ ping is 45-50ms for Mumbai server....... perfect speed on UL1333....... 6-7hr DC is there as usual but thts manageable........
 
Everything seems to be back to normal since yesterday. Registered a complaint and the line man fixed my land line problem, but said the speed issue might be because they are performing some 3G test in the area, which he couldn't do anything about it. Came home last night and the speeds were perfect. No high pings, website opening delays, download speed fluctuations etc. Let's hope it stays that way. :)
 
Guys, I have been facing this problem every morning from 10 AM to 1 PM. Not sure whats going on. As per customer care there

Hi,

have u checked the connection for any packet losses? try pinging yahoo or google or something and see what pings u get and how many packet losses.

However, for ur benifit i am posting the no of their nox so that u can call em and slap em a few, 24361249 and 24361221.

When asked who gave u their no pls say 1504. All the best m8
