Which washing machine company has better service response?

I am looking for a front load washing machine and have so far shortlisted a model each from LG, Siemens and IFB.
IFB Senorita DLX - 22.5K
Siemens 07G060 - 21.5K
LG 1068LDP - 22.5K

1. I wanted to know which of these companies has better service and reliability for washing machines. Do they all have AMC and extended warranty? I know IFB does.
2. The build quality of Siemens clearly felt superior with unibody drum and drum edge guard gasket. Not sure if they have a good support and AMC.
3. On the technical front - Are direct drive machines really that silent?

From what I have read so far they are all the same so one should buy whichever fits the budget. These extra features (marketing?) do not make so much of difference because you may not end up using them at all.
 
From my own experience, I can say that though IFB is a good washing machine but nothing without AMC.
Their service is as bad as it can get, parts are expensive & service people are crooks.

Im also in the market looking out for a good WM. Can't get Siemens locally, more inclined towards LG.
Problem with LG products is their build quality which borders flimsy.

Whirlpool appealed too but have heard their service is not great either.
Have been considering Samsung & Panasonic now. Panasonic came out with WM's in India recently, so long term service/reliability remains to be seen.
Moot point being, are the Japo products still superior to Koreans/China made that one can buy eyes closed!
 
Whirlpool india has re launched some of their international range products,you might want to check it out.Incase you don't know companies like whirlpool only make home appliances and they are the worlds largest home appliance maker.
When i bought the SUD701 which is a direct import model.It was two horse race with Siemens and whirlpool ,i had a budget of 30k,the whirlpool edged out the Siemens on pure build quality ,fit and finish.
 
The IFB and Siemens machines are identical in almost all aspects besides the obvious points I mentioned in the first post. I hear the parts are made by Bosch for both.

Also IFB and Siemens have a bigger drum as compared to Samsung or LG in the same 5.5 Kg capacity. Since the feedback about IFB is not that stellar I am leaning more towards Siemens.

If the service and AMC is at par for all then the only reason for me to consider LG would be

1. The direct drive motor

2. A powerful motor (don't know how useful will that be as they will consume more power)

3. Extensive service center network throughout India. Never know when I might have to move.
 
Even I want to know if the direct drive is indeed more advantageous compared to regular pulley type.. The noise would be less but what about durability. Anyone used it yet for few years & enlighten us...

Bosch ended its ties with IFB some 10 years ago.

All the motors used in modern expensive washing machines are brushless motors,they themself are maintenance free.Siemens also use a belt drive system.
 
Siemens after sales is very expensive. But they have a clear policy of 10 years support (including ensuring spares availability) upto 10 years from launch of product in a market.

So apart from noise Direct drive has no apparent advantage...
 
A little late to the party, but I agree with the comments about IFB service. Although they do come when called, they have a tendency not to rectify the issue reported definitively and hence requiring followup calls and increased expenditure.
 
We have an Ifb (old one) and an LG(some new model) at home and
The direct drive motor is really silent compared to the other old type !
TBH, the new lg ,model has a hundred functions and switches, but hardly do we need any of those:p
i am perfectly happy with the IFB, we bought the lg because we wanted a change after 7 years!
In the 7 years of usage, we never had any issues with the washing machine and it was used 3 days a week !

i would suggest you to go with IFB or LG, because of the service network!

One question
what rpm's do the drum work at whil drying? For lg and IFB?
 
Whatever happens stay away from the Digital range of IFB washing machines. I bought their top-end model and it conked off in two months. The PCB was faulty from day one. But their after sales crooks didn't bother to change it. They kept pulling fast ones on me saying the filter is jammed, the water level sensor is faulty, etc. Not all happy with the after sales. Even after two years i still fighting to get the PCB replaced. Stay away from IFB.

Alright then, guess I will go with LG. :) The IFB has mixed reviews, Siemens maintenance apparently is expensive and LG has a silent motor.

PS: What a summation! :ashamed:

Not sure about drying but the max RPM for Siemens is 700, IFB is 800 and LG is 1000
 
I have an IFB Senator DX and the rpm is selectable in intervals of 100 from 600 to 1200. We generally use it at 800.
Even my PCB had conked off but they replaced it without any questions. ASS response is good in Mumbai city at least.

This model had a 4 year warranty when I bought it. All others were offering 3 years only. There is not much difference between brands which have similar price ranges. Choose one which gives you a better deal/discount etc :)
 
If you want good A.S.S i would go with LG.
If you want quality i would go with whirlpool,their high end models have energy certification of A+ and also consume one of least amount of water 8 litres/kg of load.
