It's my first thread on techenclave, so don't get me wrong if i posted anything wrongly !

CPU : i7 2600 / 2600k or FX 8150 / 8120

Mobo : For i7 2600k - Asus P8Z68 M-PRO / V-PRO / V-GEN3

or

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 / GA-Z68XP-UD3R

or

Any Suggestion ?

Is there any time frame in which you plan to buy the same? Or do you plan to wait for Ivy Bridge? It should be here in ~2/3 months.

But I think it's already over-budget and you forgot to mention about Speakers and OS......as this is fresh rig, i will purchase new licence copy of [font=arial, sans-serif]Windows 7 Professional 64-bit which is 7-8k. (current OS - Windows XP SP3)[/font]

You will need to forfeit on the over-clocking features then Sire, no issues about the name.

Gigabyte motherboards, the only issue is --

1) availability w.r.t to ASUS / MSi and Intel offerings is a little spotty.

2) lack of UEFI support vs. ASUS motherboards which sport a really optimized UEFI BIOS. No all Intel P67 / H67 and Z68 motherboards will accommodate Ivy-Bridge processors built around the LGA 1155 socket, LGA 2011 based processors have a new family of motherboards releasing -- X79, Z77.

You really will not benefit a great deal with a PCIe 3.0 adapter in place of the PCIe 2.1 found on current generation motherboards

Actually, the real problem confusion between i7 2600 and i7 2600k. Is there any configuration (CPU + Mobo) that allow me -
  1. Fast operation in 3D Apps and in rendering for at least 1-2 yrs.

This processor the Core i7 2600 and 2600k are the same chip but the non-k marked processor doesn't have a unlocked multiplier therefore cannot be over-clocked.
  1. Future upgrade option with Ivy Bridge (whenever prices go down) and beyond that.

All Intel P67 / H67 / Z68 motherboards will support Ivy-Bridge CPU's built around the LGA 1155 socket, but the LGA 2011 based CPU's are physically incompatible so cannot be used with the current chipsets.
  1. USB 3.0 , SATA 3/6 Gbps , [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]UEFI BIOS (if k version selected)[/font]

[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]No if you can invest in a ASUS P8H67M-EVO you will get UEFI as a bonus. But if you go for the Intel DH67-BL you will have USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps connectors, you will not get UEFI BIOS.[/font]
  1. Mobo for full utilization of i7 2600 / k's feature (if not all, but most of).

You will have to decide, whether you want over-clocking option OR not, if you want it be ready for investing more for a P67 / Z68 based motherboard, to exploit the full extent on the Core i7 2600k.
  1. Low price point. (as you can see, out of 60k most of it already utilized)

It is all in your hands, prioritize what you want and you'll see 60000/- is a great sum for building a really solid machine [for animation / rendering suites] and can be utilized for the next ~2 years with great alacrity.

Not aware of the pricing [for Gigabyte model] and yes it lacks the UEFI advantage that ASUS confers on you.

Same for the Intel motherboard [plus Intel motherboards do not have a all solid capacitors policy, so you loose out there as well], the price of the Intel DH67-CL ~6200/-.

or should I buy Low Profile RAMs ?

This will be more optimal, keeping in mind the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, also G.Skill RIPJAWS 1600MHz is what would be optimum for you in my opinion.

No, infact Corsair Vengeance LP [Low Profile] edition are pegged at a premium due to their shorter compatible RAM heat-spreader, at the same price point the G.Skill RIPJAWS are a better option.

And for this query, the answer is no a gaming motherboard is not pre-requisite for a MAYA build, you can go the whole hog and buy a server class motherboard if you desire to.

  • NZXT's built-in 120mm Rear Exhaust Fan : uninstall it and install on the Upper Front as Intake - Plug it in PWR_FAN1
  • NZXT's built-in 140mm Top-Rear Exhaust Fan : Plug it in PWR_FAN2
  • CM XtraFlo 120mm Blue LED (additional purchase) : Install it as Rear Exhaust Fan - Plug it in CHA_FAN1
  • CM XtraFlo 120mm Blue LED (additional purchase) : Install it as Lower Front Intake Fan - Plug it in CHA_FAN2

What I assume -

1] CM XtrFlo has 4 pin connector it can be control by ASUS FAN Xpert that's why I am gonna install it in in CHA_FAN socket.

2] NZXT's built-in 120mm Fan has 3 pin connector, so it's in the PWR_FAN1 socket ; which also cool down the HDD with constant high air flow.

BTW CM XtraFlo Blue LED is currently not available in the market (some dealer says it will available in 1st week of May) instead CM Standard 120mm 90 CFM Blue LED is available.

But again CM Standard 120mm 90 CFM Blue LED has 3 pin connector so it can't be control automatically by the ASUS FAN Xpert or is it?

What u say? Should I wait for CM XtraFlo or go for CM Standard 120mm 90 CFM Blue LED with no controllable fan setup?

If you are not very averse to a noisy system, you can go for the standard Cooler Master 90 CFM fans, I assume you mean this fan --> Cooler Master SickleFlow.

You can tweak this fan by adjusting voltages in the BIOS, but I doubt it will be supported by the ASUS Fan Expert due to the 3-pin connector vis-a-vis 4-pin connector that is required for PWM.

I don't think that the XtraFlo is worth its price, I would recommend that you go for the Cooler Master SickleFlow, read this review here to make up your mind.

Also do not shift the NZXT default rear exhaust fan, buy 2x Cooler Master SickleFlow's and place them in these positions -->
  • One fan at the intake in the front of the cabinet which means it will suck in air from the front and cool the hard-drives, this keeps moving inside till it finally reaches the main chamber and graphics card.
  • A second fan on the side panel to throw fresh air onto the graphics card.
