It cost approx 36000. Luckily there was no customs duty on it. They mostly let upto 40" go through. My friend had got a 46" sometime back and he was charged 6000 duty. My other relative got a 40" and was charged 1000 duty.

Forgot to mention - also got a Samsung Bluray player, 4 3D glasses and wall mount.

sweet price! thanks for the info. Would you know if Samsung honors the warranty here? Have got some contrasting feedback from a few contacts and friends who say that Samsung does have international warranty on some of their sets bought abroad.

International warranty is mentioned on the box (1 year), but not sure if it works or there is some hidden clause

The warranty mis-information is a bit of a confusion. If you ask the company guys here.. they will instantly tell you warranty is not applicable, even without checking. Thats because they lose their profit margin + addon "revenue" they get by offering those "extended warranty" schemes.

Whereas if you go abroad to the shops.. they tell you it's valid (cos they obviously want the sale). So you kind of have to be careful where you buy or which brands etc because some members here who were sure can help you out if they've checked it clearly.

Connected my Audioengine 5 to the Bluray player.
Just moving the speakers to a bigger room made a huge huge difference in sound.
Feels like I wasted 4 years when these speakers were in a smaller room
