Actually the next day delivery is just a false promise ,i had recently sent a phone to thane and it took 3 days to reach. DTDC Plus is not good at non metro cities .So the seller might be right in the case.

No, It didn't come in any plastic bag or so and I know that DTDC is poor in service as I have dealt with many courier services from which BlueDart topped my list

^ Yes all DTDC Plus packages come in plastic bag,i think a form is mandatory in which we have to declare the value of the phone.This form is attached with the package and can be cross checked by the receiver
He did sms me that you will get your phone or your money back.
I paid him INR18200.

people bashing their head if dtdc is best or worst?....Just check the receipt and weight written on it and cross check it..No need to brag bad thing about anything before doing thorough checking..cross check receipt for bill and measure box weight that phone come..If it's not same op is fraud and you just scammed of 18.0 k...
I didn't get any receipt with this shipment, DTDC guy didn't show me any receipt.

DTDC is one of the BEST in my city. I've never had any issues with them. I have sent and received hundreds of packages through them across India, and I've never had any issues with any of my packages.
All DTDC Plus packages come in transparent plastic bag (with a few DTDC Plus logos), in which the parcel box (thing to be couriered) is put inside and is sealed shut right in front of the sender. It is not even opened by Octroi people even if Octroi is applicable in your area. In my area (Kalyan City - Suburb of Thane/Mumbai), Octroi is applicable and these bastards blatantly tear open the package and check the contents and apply Octroi, but I've noticed one thing, they never touch any DTDC Plus packages. Thats what they DTDC guys say, "the DTDC Plus sealed packages are sealed in front of the sender on the spot and are to be opened directly by the receiver."
Also, DTDC Plus receipts are TWICE AS BIG in size as regular DTDC receipts, so ask the sender to scan the receipt for you. It will be clearly printed on the receipt also that it is a DTDC Plus receipt. Also, if you track the consignment number on the DTDC website, if it is a DTDC Plus package, the site itself will show "DTDC Plus" while showing the location of the package. While tracking, did you see "DTDC Plus" written anywhere ?

PS: Another advice I would give to you is literally threaten him that you will file an FIR with the Cyber Crime Branch of Police and that you have his bank account details, etc,. and that they will eventually get him. In all honesty, if you or your elders have some contacts with the Police, I would SERIOUSLY suggest you to file an FIR.

Exactly the reason why some reputed and well respected sellers here put some marks on the packaging and send/e-mail/pm photos and if possible a video of the package well before sending it via courier.
But if the fault resides with the seller itself, it can't be helped
