varkey Inactive Galvanizer Dec 11, 2012 #2 The GG45 has 4 additional conductors at the corners, which is utilized by CAT 7. What is the use of going for CAT 7 if you are not fully utilizing it? I guess it should work, but at reduced performance.

One more doubt, as per the info I got from google, OD of CAT7 is more then OD of CAT6/CAT5, so crimping CAT7 in a standard RJ45 connector wont be possible. Is it so?
