I am looking for windows phone 8, I think some of you must be surely owning one of this phones. I have a low budget of 15k, so please suggest me good phones.

1. Q: Budget?
A: 15k

2. Q: Preferred Form Factor(flip, bar, slider)?
A: Bar

3. Q: Preferred display type?
A: Not sure what this is.

4. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: Nokia, HTC are my top choice, but I am open to others.

5. Q: Preferred input method (Touchscreen, QWERTY, etc.)?
A: Touchscreen

6. Q: Camera required or not? If required, please specify type like front camera/flash/etc.
A: Required a 5MP camera. Flash.

7. Q: Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: Windows Phone

8. Q: Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: Wifi needed

9. Q: What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: Camera, mails, internet, apps, GPS, chat, music, video call.

10. Q: Any other requirements?
A: Want the best quality phone, will use this for 3 years minimum.

11. Q: If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.
A: I am looking at Nokia Lumia 620, also I really loved the HTC 8S, but is it in my budget? I mean 620 is around 13k and specs are almost same as 8S then why is 8S so costly? Also looking at the Lumia 820.

Please tell me your suggestions.

Update:
Hey guys sorry for creating new thread, but I am locked onto this confusion the A30 or A110?
I need this for maps, internet, reading (studying), light gaming and apps.
Both come in my budget.
1. I chose this because of big screen, as reading will be easier??
2. Also will PDF files work on this??
3. Can I update OS to 4.1 or 4.2?
4. How is the build quality for both?
5. Is reading easy on both?
6. Are the exclusive showrooms like Nokia for both?

I saw some Micromax Androids in Pune Central last week. I think one was A110, and the other was the older one with the dual-core+IPS display and a 4" screen.
The display on the 5" wasn't pretty because of the low resolution, but the 4" phone was gorgeous. The build quality on both was really good, and except for the micromax logo, they looked like premium devices.
The cameras on both were a let down though, 5/8mp, but no HD recording. I think the new A110 has HD recording, and I think it's available for less than 10k online.
Karbonn and Micromax Androids are on display at Croma and Reliance Digital, so check them out before you buy.
They're good buys if you don't mind not having a digital compass, and a not too great camera.

I've seen people using Windows phones, and they seem a lot easier to use than Androids. I think they let you get more done with less clicks, and I'm sure they've got better cameras and audio quality than the Micromaxs and Karbonns. And they'd probably hold their value better too. I think it'd be pretty hard to sell a Micromax/Karbonn at even half the purchase price after a couple of months of use.
Go look at the phones, play with them, check out the camera and audio quality (take headphones with you and transfer songs/pics via bluetooth). Take a coupe of your pdfs and see how readable they are on both OS's. And then decide.

Says who and where ? . Could you be kind enough to link me to the official article where this has been said. iPhone 3GS until recently supported the previous versions of OS. I am saying this because microsoft follows similar closed model. The updates were because some of the even basic features like copy paste were missing. To be fair, WP8 is the first major update and that is incompatible with older handsets even the lumia 900 which was recently launched. As far app hurdle is concerned , I have been hearing this since the last year and situation is the same. If you own a windows phone, then go to the top free and top paid apps and you will know what I am talking about.

Because of the fact that the kernel of Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8 (RT) is different.

Now Google it OR here I will give you a few links.
Windows Phone 8 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Windows Phone 8 replaces its previously Windows CE-based architecture with one based on the Windows NT kernel with many components shared with Windows 8, allowing applications to be easily ported between the two platforms.
AnandTech - The Windows RT Review

Hope this gets the point across.

Also, for the application space, seeing that you are such a charitable person why don't you start doing developer work for Java and Symbian based handsets.

The new OS incompatibility on older devices is due to Microsoft replacing CE-based architecture used on WP7 devices with the Windows NT kernel.

If you're an app junkie then WP8 will disappointed you, that's true. But almost every major app, 46 from the top 50 mobile apps are available.

Actually I needed a large screen phone for reading, so what would be better 5 inch or 5.9 inch? Also I see some brand Huawei launching a 6.1 inch 1080p phone at the main page of TE.

And regarding the app hurdle, don't think the more is merrier. One cannot really try all the existing apps, it's the quality of the apps that matters.

@blkrb0t

I knew that WP8 had mass storage mode, but was unsure whether the music copied via USB would be visible in the Music hub. So it seems that Zune may no longer need for this mundane task (what a huge relief!). Ditto for transferring pics to the PC.
@Sei

Offline on TE. Its a PITA to use the web interface.

Either way, I would still say stick to Android. There are certain features that are still missing in WP8.

whatever you said may be quite possible because there is no such os as windows Phone 8 (RT):bleh: .Please do you research before commenting or as you said google. Window phone 8 and windows RT are different. Here is the link for your benefit on RT. Windows RT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thank you. How did you know that I develop mobile apps ?. I have written apps for ios , android as well as done investigations for the WP7 app.:p

@blkrb0t,ayanavish

Thank you for providing links that talk how great the new kernel is but nowhere it says that "win 8 has not been ported to older phones because of hardware incompatibility". Infact I can provide you links to the contrary Against all odds Windows Phone 8 has been hacked on to the HTC HD2 | Windows Phone Central

I sense a lot of fanboyism in reply to my question. My intention is correct some of the misinformation that people are posting and not to indulge in OS bashing. Whatever has been written is based on my personal experience with my lumia 710 phone that I own and use everyday and I stand by it.

Windows RT is the Windows8 mobile / tablet edition.

Just a hunch considering you sounded so proud of the fact that MICROSOFT's application list is not as long as and full of crap like
"Hot Indian Sex Stories"
.

The point is that MICROSOFT wants to sell more licenses of the software. They are not a charitable institution and will not dole out all the updates that you demand OR for that matter 'we' demand. A new kernel is a scape-goat and a valid reason to call in old hardware old and start introducing a new strain of the OS.

Also I do not see old handsets sprouting a micro-SD slot OR suddenly forgetting that they to operate with Zune for file transfers.

Look, that is one off I don't think all people have the time, inclination to hack / jail-break / Root their devices and then some. I still have to convince people that this does not void warranty (rooting).

I am an Android user, I am not a PHAN-BOI and before pointing fingers get it inside the shoes of an average person who just wants to use his phone / smartphone like a dumb-phone. Capisce.

Hey guys just stop fighting with each other, I haven't got any proper reply yet with confirmation. I cannot go to showrooms and decide as the devices are not available/released there.
So what would it be A110, A30 or 620??
I hope everyone know why I need this for, or let me confirm again, need it for maps, internet, apps, not much gaming but medium gaming would be good, also want good reading ability on it, budget is 15k.
