Xbox 360 or CPU /Mobo combo for gaming on Full HD

Want to game again once again like before i used to !
In a confusion whether to buy a Xbox 360 console or a PC for playing games on LED via HDMi.

Games interested to play : Crysis 3 , Latest nfs series , batman , farcry 3 , assasins creed 3 , split second , GTA , call of duty 4 etc....

Only important thing i need is full hd graphics on my 47" !

I am okay with used console or a used CPU /Mobo combo. And i am getting a xbox 360 fat for 6K . or shud i buy a PC.?

I am currently having cabinet with psu and a 1TB hdd lying at home idle from a year since i bought a Sony Viao core i5 which has 8GB ddr3 ram.!!

So i am just in a fix guys , what shud i do .....shud i buy the console or buy a CPU / MoBo ?

Also can i upgrade my graphics card on my laptop ?

My budget is max 10K and i only need it for gaming.!
 
PC and Console graphics are totally different.
A Console cannot match a high end PC.
But a console comes cheaper when compared to a high end PC.
Also console is immune to hardware up-gradations, unlike PC where your hardware gets obsolete the very next month.
I am content playing on my PS3, which i had got 1-2 month back. I didnt want to keep spending money on upgrading my PC again.

Can you mention your complete PC config?
You cannot upgrade laptop graphics.
Considering your budget you are better off with a console.
 
@Ethan_Hunt : Yes i ll need a GPU too. What about the latest AMD Trinity series and motherboard combo Till a budget of 10K? Will i still need a descrete GPU. ? So whats advisable to stick to Console or CPU /Mobo? I am open to used offers too.

My main concern : 1080p output on my LEd! via hdmi. Which will look better ? the console or PC?
 
A 2nd or a 3rd gen Core i3 should be enough for gaming at 1080p. Couple it with a B75 based mobo. Get the best GPU you can.

AMD Trinity is not bad, but for full HD gaming I dont think its gonna cut it.
 
If you're overall budget is 10k, then I'd stick with the console purchase. None of the consoles would deliver 1080p resolutions for their games, but even 720p doesn't look that bad.
 
Okay so anyhow i need to compromise on 720p or atleast not Full HD coz of my budget?
So if thats a deal breaker here then i will accept it and compromise with it.
So now @720p will this xbox 360 be better or the amd trinity setup without GPU (since only that will be in budget i suppose) or some used config with GPU? @vivek.krishnan
And also the at what resolution i will be able to play if i buy PC.

PS : i dont need a PC since i already have 2 lappies at home. Nor i have a monitor.

I just need to game at the best graphics within my budget. And also what wud u people suggest shud i extend my budget a little and then buy different console like PS3 or stick with this.

The xbox will be a better option because with the A10, you would almost spend all your money on the CPU and mobo. You may need to spend more money on the RAM as well, since AMD chips are more memory sensitive.

It would be easier to decide if you mention what you currently have lying around.

And finally, if you may get some cash in the future, it would make more sense springing for a i3 now and adding the GPU later.
 
I have lying around only a Cabinet , a Corsair PSU and a 1TB HDD.
I just saw a couple of videos of the AMD Trinity A10-5800K on Youtube. And i am pretty shocked with the 1080p results with getting above 30Fps on its inbuilt HD 7660D iGpu.
This has made me more confusing.

XBOX will be cheaper.

I considered that fact either of a core i3 and later on a GPU. But as of now i wont be able to game till i get a GPU. Also cant i extend the GPU later on the trinity setup like the core i3 machine?
 
My Suggestion : Build a Steam Box. Buy a 360 controller for PC and have fun.
I say this cause I own a 360. I am still regretting not going for PS3, except for the controller part.. X360 has the best controller.

So here's what i have decided. Was searching from last two days and building Steam Box seems to be better Option than consoles ! And it will slide behind my LED easily in the living room.
SO this is what i Feel Pls suggest....

Intel Rig .....additional components which i will need to buy right now.!
CPU : Intel Pentium G2020 3rd Generation Dual core. -rs.3100
(This because it seems to be most value for money and plays pretty every game you throw at it.)
Motherboard : MSI H61M-P31 1155 Mobo. rs.3000
Ram : Corsair Memory 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz. ( Plenty for Games ). rs.2000
Xbox controller for Windows as suggested by @F3niX - rs.1500 ( Wired or wireless is better? )

GPU : XFX HD7770 1GB GDDR5 ( Not now next Weeek).

So is this is what i feel.

Will my corsair cx430 be enuf?
 
I use wireless, and it keeps draining batteries faster. So I Suggest you to get Play and Charge kit with it too.. May cost 4K in all..
For Config. I Suggest you to read through this page and then decide.
I suggest you to go for a 7850 if possible..
 
Yes wireless kit will do the job !
There is no fun in getting the wired controller since , sitting infront of a 47" with a wired controller is no fun!

Also why a HD 7850 ? Any significant difference over a 7770HD.
I am getting the new XFX 7770 for 7.8K ! Is it good or ok? Price of HD 7850 ?
 
Well, 7850 is much much faster.. Check here. If you need a good experience for 4 years, I suggest you to stick with 7850.
I Hope the CPU wont be a Bottleneck.. only @ALPHA17 can help you with that
But, It may overshoot your budget.

I have been playing using xbox and ps3 on my 51inch plasma and there's never been a moment i feel PC could have done it better. I left PC gaming 3 years ago. Since then these two consoles have been serving me good.

Really xbox will be better. ? But i am buying the xbox controller na with my config? The games are similar once we enter the game? Plus i will be able to play that game at 1080p ! With graphics tuned up.
 
Mark my words. I said "If you are a gamer..."

A gamer is a person who is not really much bothered about visual eye candy but about whats in the game itself... I recently played Farcry 3 on my 360 and I had played both Farcry & Farcry 2 on my PC and belive me I had a much better experience playing on the console. No installation issue, Instant on, No updates, No setting up the eyecandy, nothing as such. Pure gaming experience.

I have just started playing Tomb Raider on my xbox and I am really happy with the graphics. For sure PC's output would be much much better but game-play experience as well as gfx quality is totally acceptable on the Xbox itslef.

I have my Xbox hooked with a 40" LCD along with a 5.1 Onkyo Home theater placed right infront of a very comfy bed/couch.
