Queries related to passport

My Wife applying for reissue of Passport in Tatkal asap for change of address and adding spouse name . We have created online account and filled up the form now waiting to take an appointment. I am currently in USA.
1. Any recent change in Tatkal process?
2. She needs to submit Spouse passport xerox copy, Ration card copy, marriage certificate and Old passport. Any other documents, I heard like some police clearance certificate and affidavit etc etc.
3. For address proof Ration card and my passport is enough
4. Is it easy getting the Tatkal appointment as this is urgent
5. How does Police inquiry goes for Tatkal
 
Police Verification for a Tatkal Passport is Post issuance of the passport, make sure there is no discrepancies in the address on the the proofs given!
 
So when submitting supporting documents such as Spouse Passport Xerox, she cant show my original passport as I am in USA. She will be submitting my passport xerox copy. So does that require to be self attested or plain xerox.

When applying for Passport under Tatkal scheme the passport is issued in under 7 days and Police Verification is done after Passport issuing. So can the applicant travel immediately once he gets the passport under Tatkal or he has to wait till Police verification completes. Does the passport gets activated immediately?

For Tatkal applicant what Affidavit I need to submit. I know Annexure F and Annexure I are required. Any other Affidavit is required?
 
back in 2009 I got my passport issued in tatkal and immediately travelled to Sweden. police came to home when I was in Sweden and my mom talked to them. Told my mom that I should come to police station after I arrive with all my certificates for verification. I never went to for verification :)

and usually all the afidavits are sold outside the passport office, so just go there and buy them. thats what I did in hyderabad.
 
For Tatkal application the afidavits which I need to submit has to be printed on some stamp paper or just on plain paper and get the stamp from the Verification officer like SHOs.

Please advice it’s urgent. I am in NY, USA and wife is in Mumbai, India a Homemaker. We don’t have each other’s name endorsed in our passport. Wife went today in tatkal form submission for Passport Renewal for adding my name in Spouse and change of address (my address). The reason for Passport Renewal is that we are expecting a baby and to make the child passport one of the parents passport should have Spouse name endorsed.
She carried following documents as mentioned in Passport advisor:
-Her original Passport
-Marriage certificate
-Xerox copy of my passport
-Ration card
-PAN card

Now the PSK executives told that they can’t accept as for address my passport Xerox is not enough because my passport doesn’t have Spouse name endorsed. She was told to get 12 month Bank statement from nationalized bank or get my Passport renewed.
Now the problem starts. She is having saving account in DCB(Development Credit Bank) which is a scheduled commercial bank as per their website and that address is also different. She is going to change that tomorrow to my address. She meet with an agent today and agent told to also create an account with Nationalized Bank such Andra Bank and then go again for form submission and you have to produce your DCB 12 month statement and Andhra Bank statement.
Do you think will they accept DCB Bank statement that too after she updates the address now
Will the Andra Bank account help.
Can I add her name in my HDFC or ICICI bank account from USA and then she shows 12 month Bank statement. Can this work
Please advice. Its Urgent.
 
The Andhra Bank method aint going to be helpful, unless you directly know the Brach Manager, who can vouch and give a letter stating she has the account for more than 12 months.

Approach DCB, get the address updated, and get the 12 month statement, or a letter with the recent photograph of the applicant stating , the same has been holding an account with the respective branch, since so on so date and stamped and signed from the Branch Manager.
Well as your spouse name is not endorsed its quiet difficult. Are you sure you still need to show your passport?

How about trying your wife to get your name endorsed on her passport? You have get another annexure filled for that purpose. You have to show the marriage certificate, recent photograph of you together with your wife.... etc. On the stamp paper behind, the signing authority will affix that latest photograph with you and your wife and seal and stamp all the four corners.

Hey Thanks for replying. My wife is only renewing her Passport from Malad, Mumbai PSK. She is renewing so that my name is endorsed and address also changes. I am in NY and if I renew here in USA then my USA address will get printed on Passport which I don't want right now, I have kept this is as the last option. What is the annexure you are telling, how will it help. My wife needs proof of address to prove that she is staying with her husband at xyz address. How will the annexure help. Can you explain please.
 
@irfanlai I guess in the renewal process the Annexure for Marriage Affidavit is not there . So I guess its not going to be helpful, Would a joint account holding proof and statement of account be more than enough?
 
A joint account statement will be more than enough. Just add her as an joint account holder in one of your accounts and get the 12 month statement. Else, she can change her address in the DCB account and then get a 12 month statement. The statement will only carry the latest updated address, so shouldn't be a problem. Try the second option first.

Joint account cant be done because I am in US and she is in India. Best chance for us is to change the DCB account address to my current address and then apply.
Will they accept DCB bank statement? On website and every where they have mentioned Public Sector Banks statements only. Has anybody submitted Private sector Bank statements other than Public Sector Banks

@logistopath I checked all post in this thread. How you made your wife passport. What address proof you gave and which Bank account statement you gave.

@irfanlai I had converted my Lakshmi Vilas Bank account to a joint account and shown that as proof of address for my wife. At that time (just over 3 months ago), the passport website mentioned that the bank has to be a scheduled commercial bank.. there was no mention about it being public sector or private sector. But right now, the same website has a document listing out only public sector bank statements as valid proof as address. Guess you will have to look for other options for address proof. :(
 
@logistopath Thanks for the reply. No doubt my wife is going to try with the DCB bank statement. I am thinking of some other alternative if they reject the DCB statement also. I will explain.
My main aim for wife passport renewal is for the baby passport coz the rules states either of the parents should have spouse name endorsed.
Now my friends suggested don't change your wife address, let it be the old one. Only add my name so that she gets connected to you. This way you can get your baby's passport easily.
Now my confusion is - my wife will have spouse name and I will not have. Both passport address will also be different. Later when I will apply for baby's passport will it create a problem if both parents address is not same. I fear that they again might create issue.
Any idea about this.
 
From what i remember, when i wanted to get my wife's name in my passport, i just took marriage certificate and it worked. I never did the change of address.
I don't remember taking any other special documents. I also took 12 Months of ICICI Bank statement but that does not have my wife's name anywhere (although we have joint account) but i don't remember if i ever showed them the statement. But the xerox of marriage certificate was self attested.
My memory of passport renewal is not clear as of now so what i say above might be wrong.
Let me see at my home in my file what all documents i have xeroxed which may help me in figuring out what i had done.
Sorry cannot be much helpful as of now.

My wife did this.. She didn't have account in my hometown. Hence she got added in my father's account as joint holder; got the 12 months statement and psk accepted her application.

My Father has a joint Bank account with my Mother with Bank of India but it has been opened on 13th March 2013. We are planning to remove my mother's name from the account and add my wife name. Hope this will then resolve the issue.
I will then take the appointment in March 1st week so that it can be seen as 12 month running account.

My wife will be adding her name with my Father's bank account as joint holder. Now what name should she use while adding?
-Name before marriage that includes her Father's name (Current Passport has her name with Father)
-Name after marriage that should have my name for which she has only marriage certificate. For this she has prepared affidavit stating that she is married to me and after marriage name is so and so.
-Should she just add her First name and Last name. No middle name.

I don’t want a scene where PSK official say that your name in Bank is different and old passport name is different.

Guys need advice. My sister had her new Passport issued last year and out of the blue one of the cover pages of the passport came off. Does anybody know what the procedure will be in a case like this? Do we have to go through the entire process of getting a new passport all over again?
 
@irfanlai, Your wife has to keep the name after marriage, as that is what you need to show in the passport, but will the bank agree to such a change from the fathers name?
The PSK official can clearly understand that from the affidavit, that she was married to you, provide document evidence, then what more can they be asking for?
Keep in mind one thing, what data you wanted to be printed on the passport must match and be the same of the supporting documents and evidence submitted at the time meeting the PSK official.

@wingmysoul , care to elaborate what do you mean my one of the cover page came out? A snap of the same can answer your query better
