Is it possible to boost mobile signal in house?

From starting of June this year, I've been getting only 2g signal inside my home. If I keep the phone in window I get 3g signal. Previously I used to get 3g signal easily in my bedroom.

I was wondering why and on a hunch I just scanned for wifi networks. I saw two wifi networks with low quality signal. They show up everywhere in every room plus even till ground floor of building. Do wifi repeaters interfere with mobile signal?

Can I attach a copper wire to the window grill and bring it inside the house to boost phone signal?
 
Yes I saw that blog. I don't think Vodafone will give booster in my place cause the tower is just a few buildings away from my home. Anyway I switched from 3G to 2G and weirdly I'm getting better speeds. Max I got till now on 2G is around 26KBps. Its usually hovering around 5-10KBps now. Got 3G speeds only outside the home so I ditched the plan.
 
MNP can come to rescue for such thing. They might install booster just for you. :-P
I prefer WiFi + 2G inside home to save some battery.
 
you can get a 900MHz or 1800 MHz REPEATER. !! That's what I'm using at my home
it would cost 10k+ for kit but totally worth it. gain is about 15-30 dBi

Facing same issue with Airtel. I am not worried about data network but basic telephony is affected. Signal drops intermittently and frequently and phone goes out of service area.

I have subscribed to missed call alert and captured screenshot and details of all missed calls (hundreds of them). I sent a detailed mail to Pan India head but he turned deaf ears. I assume like their CS, nodal and appellate he also has no say/authority.

It's so ironic that they run the best network for smartphone campaign.

or Quad band for 14 k ?
Quad band for 14k is unrealistic but wanted to confirm

Wasn't it for 4G only? I think 2/3G works on all the 800-1900MHz spectrum range. Vodafone is 800 or 900MHz I think.
I think TRAI is going to allow spectrum sharing in coming months to increase mobile density.

Nope, 3G in India is on the 2100 Mhz frequency. 4G is being implemented differently. Airtel which has 4G in few cities is using 2300 Mhz. Most (95%) mobile phones don't support it. Reliance Jio might use a different frequency according to rumors.

These things are like pencils, they go bad after prolonged usage. so its better to get separate frequencies so that it could be replaced as required. I had replaced one 1800 MHz so far. keeping CDMA and 900 MHz disconnected and occasionally turning off 3G. but have to keep 1800 MHz all the time so it went bad.

Can you please share some photos of your installation in your house(or premise).
My friend has 8-10 BSNL sims in his house but the coverage is as good as not present in the house. They have to come out to talk on the phone or always call back from the landline. No other GSM service in his town.
 
In my apartment also Airtel's signal is bad. Looked for some cheap solution. Didnt find anything decent. So bought a cordless phone with Link to cell feature. Now I keep my mobile hanging in the balcony where it gets good signal and connect it with my cordless landline and use it all across the house.

Can you SMS with that cordless landline linked to your airtel cell phone?
