Have you people seen this.It is not long enough when all other companies follow the same method.Even now samsung,LG and sony are doing the same.

Why they are doing like this and we need to protest strongly against this.Even in advanced countries like US only 8% of the people buy from online rest of them still relay on Offline merchants.Then why this merchants are feeling insecure about it in our country,our online population may be 2% or less than that only.

I don't see any sense in it and basically it is act against consumer rights and human rights.Its like they are asking us to buy candy from this store only not any other store.But basically its our right to choose from which shop we want to purchase and in a competitive world if the company is not able to provide good service then there are other options also.

Middle men in India effect everything... Online purchasing is the new future. These companies still trying to enforce old business rules will mean jack shit... Some vendor will decide to make a deal with flipkart and amazon will get the slice of the pie while others are left to dust in sales. Just saying :P

Dell is not allowing dealers to register for warranty who list products online.
My friend had to get a written assurance from Amazon.in, that they will accept returns if Service center doesn't honor Warranty.
This is very bad.
 
Technology companies going against online shopping? How awesome.

Time for some online exclusive companies to step in and gain marketshare. Xiaomi is already doing it in the mobile space. It won't be long before most offline retailers start feeling the pinch. Everything will move to the Internet.

How come they can argue that this sellers are giving predatory pricing because AFAIK these sellers buy only from those companies only and none of them are making devices by themselves. And about margin, margin of the company or margin of the shop owner which is important for the company. And about tax I concur that flipkart like sites should file tax because how our government can fund all public initiative

AFAIK Flipkart has not been booked for evasion of taxes. So I presume that they pay their taxes on time.

If there is a loophole in the Income Tax law, that is not a fault of FK. Is it?

That is the main thing here. Every news agency is fired up and says ED is investigating FK. But I don't think ED has put out a press release anywhere saying so.
Only a complaint has been filed. They will launch an investigation only if they feel that the complaint is valid.
 
What a strange India.Even technology sellers are feared about technology or advancement.They bring each new instrument with adds like,

Bringing radical changes to traditional computing,More technologically sophisticated than previous generation,new and improved

Why they are even bothered to produce technological device.Its better they produce some stationary items and all.They are publicly giving controversial ideas.

I want to know can they say the same when someone file case against for not giving warranty because purchased from online.
 
If they tried anything like this in US they would be slapped with a class action lawsuit by now from the consumers

They are well within their rights to do what they are doing. Its not about on-line/offline seller and its not about predatory pricing or anything. They have a network of authorized resellers for a reason. They are basically saying that if you buy through their authorized reseller network whom they trust, they will take responsibility for the quality of the product that you received.

If you buy from somebody who is not authorized, they have no control over the conditions under which it was sold to you. The product may have been tampered or mishandled by the seller or there might be some reasons beyond their control due to which the quality of the product may have been affected. So they take no liability under such conditions and it is up to you and your seller to sort out in case of problems.

Its like the difference between signing a guarantee for a loan/giving referral at a bank for your family member and to a complete stranger . You would give it only to a person that you trust.

The product warranty rights that is given to you is called a "limited warranty". It means that under certain controlled conditions the terms of which are mentioned by them, they assure you the quality of the product and will take responsibility for any non-conformance.

Here is an excerpt from HP limited warranty statement.

This HP Limited Warranty applies only to HP-branded and Compaq-branded hardware products, including without limitation, HP printing supplies (collectively referred to in this HP Limited Warranty as "HP Hardware Products") sold by or leased from Hewlett-Packard Company, its worldwide subsidiaries (collectively referred to in this HP Limited Warranty as "HP"), affiliates, authorized resellers, authorized distributors, or country distributors with this HP Limited Warranty. The term "HP Hardware Product" is limited to the hardware components and required firmware.

And yeah, all that Snapdeal and Amazon have to do is work out a deal with HP or any other manufacturer to become authorized resellers.

How come they become authorized re seller in some country while unauthorized seller in another country.And above all can you assure that product they are selling is that much good and can't the reseller tamper the item?No Because they want to sell them and earn money same principle apply here also in online reseller.Even they are allowing for 30 days no question asked return are there any authorized reseller with guts to do it?
Why only Indian consumers have to face such discrimination?
Even the telecom companies,Petroleum companies all are using us for their personal profit,selfishness,

Amazon and Snapdeal do not sell directly. They are a marketplace. So whatever they do, they cannot become authorized resellers unless they start selling directly.

I meant the fronts through which they sell like WSRetail in case of Flipkart. In case of third party resellers, its up to those sellers to become authorized.

I think you are confusing several things. The bad thing in India is the control exerted by middlemen in controlling the market including creating artificial shortage and controlling prices. I would really love to see FDI in Retail being allowed in India and the local retailers who are fleecing customers to be utterly ruined and run out business by fierce competition.

At the same time, It has nothing to do with the conditions of manufacturers limited warranty. The 30 day money back is actually provided by the seller. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer. The manufacturer warranty its on its own terms and if you abide by the terms, you have every right to claim warranty. You cannot buy from any unauthorized source and expect the manufacturer to cover you. What next, people would expect a manufacturer to cover them when they get a fake or tampered product.

As for discrimination that you claim, you are wrong there as well. Do you think denying the rights of manufacturers is not discrimination?

In India it is at least possible for unauthorized resellers to still sell products. In many countries unauthorized resale is outright illegal. If anything, it is India which is very discriminative in not allowing open competition in a legitimate manner.

If HP wants to exercise such control, why are they knowingly supplying online retailers?
If they want to penalise someone why not penalise their distributor who supplies online stores instead of arm twisting a consumer?
