I believe its better if you start bargaining with A-VO-ID in January. Right now they're offering Unlimited L/N calls + 2GB 4G for 297 (28days)

Which might be introduced in Postpaid also

@Julian I'm also on exact same plan and believe me thats the max and best vodafone can offer. I bargained a lot but no use.

Guess they don't want their arpu dropping too much. I'm going to try threatening to convert to prepaid at the store. Sometimes the reps give good offers.

Yeah, once jio starts charging they might take them more seriously. No one in their right mind would port a primary/important number to jio right now. I spend a lot of time every evening redialing, then get frustrated and call from vodafone. Ported, out of state and bsnl numbers are really hard to connect in the evenings. Thing is, i have nothing else to do while standing in the atm queue...

Port out and get something else. Idea Cellular, RCom, Aircel (if in south/east) and Tata Docomo (if west/central India) are good options providing good plans at good rates for postpaid users.

Before anyone talks about coverage: Tata Docomo is good as long as you are in cities or outskirts of cities. RCom is "OK" nearly everywhere thanks to their agreements with other operators for coverage. Their 3G wasn't too hot once but now that their 4G is basically the same coverage as Jio 4G, it's pretty damn good. Idea everyone knows is pretty good and one of the top 3. Aircel is tremendous VFM in south India.

So i went to the vodafone store and said i wanna convert to prepaid. Reason is Jio i said. The agent smiled. Jio IS a trigger word. Gave me a 299 option with 600 local + 400 std, 1gb 3g/4g and 300 sms. I'm saving only 100 bucks on my current plan but took it anyway. Mainly because I would have to somehow separate my current sim and sd card from the mod when they give me a new sim lol.

Changing my vote to NO after experiencing How Poor the coverage is in Towns, While travelling.

VoLTE isn't Always ON, Its randomly Switching OFF. (3S prime China ROM)

which circle?

Calls are still disconnecting(even on Jio to Jio) and 4G internet is not that stable(need to toggle airplane mode frequently)
Waiting for it to stabilize, which won't happen till 31st Mar because of free users.....so keeping my primary sim @ Voda.

All the enthusiasm of Jio is waning, just keeping it because the calls are free else the net speed is from bad to worse to horrible

It's an awesome option for rural areas. I don't get great speeds inside my house but outside getting speeds in 12-15Mbps range.
However, post the free offer period, it doesn't make sense for people like me who don't make a lot of calls and are near Wi-fi.
So I won't be porting to Jio either as my call traffic doesn't justify spending 149p.m.

Can you share the plan name? will be visible in my vodafone app for your account...

It's still showing the old plan in *111#. I'll install the app and check shortly.[DOUBLEPOST=1481215983][/DOUBLEPOST]Nope even the app is still showing the dv499. Nothing in India works without giving gaalis to the poor clueless customer service morons...

Called customer care this morning and they confirmed i'm still on the old plan, they can't even see a request put in for a plan change. Went to the store in the evening and met the same girl who had offered me the plan. She went into the inside room and took about 15 minutes. Then came out with a piece of paper and a service request number on it. Said it will be done soon. So i called customer care and gave them the SR# and asked when it was created. No surprise, it was just then. I went back into the store and asked for the manager. Made a BIG issue about it. Three frigging days ago. The manager also started lying, probably to cover the agent's ass. Said changing to a retention plan from an existing retention plan requires approval. I said wtf were you doing for 3 days. She admitted that the agent neglected to even send the request email that day. Anyway, she said it will be done by tomorrow. I said yeah whatever, i'll probably port to Jio soon anyway. They were all like, who gives a shit if you go. Dumbfuks have one job...[DOUBLEPOST=1481312308][/DOUBLEPOST]p.s. they also have some lower plans like 249/199, without free calling/data options i think.

This is a redmi issue. Works just fine in Oppo/Vivo phones.[DOUBLEPOST=1481696611][/DOUBLEPOST]@Julian: Only Idea will give you a good retention plan for the prices you are paying. Would suggest you to move out ASAP to another operator.

1. Redmi issue: True this... Had to switch off and switch ON VoLTE option to enable it once it disappears. Not a good thing though, You lose calls.
2. Idea retention offers: My prepaid offers are better than what AIRTEL/VODA is offering. Simply excellent data speeds which is making me not to PORT to Jio.
