What will happen if steam, origin etc gets closed ?

What will happen if steam gets closed one day or origin or any such platform? If gog gets closed then also we can play since there will be no drm but what will happen if these gets closed.

Because there is no problem yet. You want Valve to say they will give DRM free access to all games on Steam if Steam goes down? That would make publishers very unhappy.
 
Yes there is no problem yet but Publishers are becoming greedy & taking advantage of it they are now pricing digital copies like console version physical copies also slowly migrating towards micro transactions in the name of dlc after dlcs. Payday for instance is releasing dlc after dlc every week.

Yeah I am actually tired of their bullshit dlcs.I even stopped playing that.

People will again go back to piracy. Their (steams) income will go down..Gaben will go bankrupt & he will flee usa and come to india because its still primitive & he will be relieved of any charges like what Vijay mallya did.maybe..just a guess I know its not a practical thing for now but just in case.
 
Heh. Even if all the Steam users in India stop buying games right now the impact on Valve will be less than 1% (even less) than their total income. Our install base is negligible. Which is pretty sad.

Steam will not go down entirely, unless there's a WW3 and everything goes down. What can happen is it may evolve into a subscription and game streaming based service. We'll see :)

Yes things like that. Kim jong un is daily threatening to nuke some country he already mentioned usa & japan. The two giants.
