Now how do i format an sd card which has been encrypted to be used only in a specefic smartphone?

Long story short :- Dad converted his sd card from a portable storage to shared internal storage (both internal storage and sd card space gets pushed into one). Didn't work, now trying to convert it back to portable by going backwards (using the same default tool in settings>storage). Boop an error code comes up saying it can't format it.

Ended up making the tldr pretty long :p Anyways guys, so in my dad's phone i had made the sd card into a shared internal storage. "Hey this would be great" i thought to myself at the moment. 16gb plus 8? who wouldn't?
Well...didn't work, at the moment it didn't really matter as it still worked fine without the sd card. However after a few months of just leaving it inside the phone, i had time so i took it out, plugged it into a usb hub for sd cards, plugged that in and tried to format it.
It just froze, everytime i tried to do so...no matter what i tried it would just freeze with the windows mouse blue circle continuously spinning. I googled and tried to use these ehem "professional format tools" but they were just ****ing trial scams which showed what the result would be (a formated sd card) but in order to do that, you have to click the run button in the tool which is LOCKED ($25 bucks to unlock it! Tool name is easeus partition master btw). After a bit of more googling, i realise that once your sd card is converted to shared internal storage it is apparently re encoded and locked only to be used in the phone for security reasons(which didn't even properly work),and the only way to remove this lock is to reuse the same method which was used in the phone to convert it in the first place (which i have tried only to come up with an error saying format was not succesful). And so here i come, on my knees asking you tech gods for help. Is there any possible way for me to remove this lock using my pc itself and not having to use any bullshit tools like easeus?

I thank you all once again :)

Encryption does not matter if you're going to format it. Try formatting the sdcard in the command window as administrator. If you're having problems with Windows, use your android phone or use a digital camera to format the sdcard. Lots of ways to format a sdcard now days.

Believe me man, i tried that too using the same method one would use to format a hard drive to install windows (using cmd). i did it, and if i remember well, nothing else came up to prompt that it had been finished. So that didn't work either

Gonna try that thank you!

Are you sure that card is not corrupt?

I wouldn't because if the micro sd card develops a problem in the future then you've lost access to your phone. Factory reset. An accident waiting to happen.

You're lucky the attempt to create shared storage failed at the outset.

Always stick to portable.

Encrypted or not is up to you. I prefer to leave unencrypted as its an easy swap from one phone to the next.

Yeah, security is a problem but i've not lost a phone yet.

Well one always learn from one's mistakes. I don't feel like going so far to use linux to just format a cheap 16gb micro sd so thank you all for the help

Only micro sd card i use are the extreme series from sandisk. These work faster and from what i can tell are reliable.

The cheaper ones i find should be replaced at least every year or two.

I learnt my lesson years back when a regular sandisk developed problems within a year and i didn't realise that those messages telling me the card was removed and re-inserted meant it was failing. This was the series below the ultra. Just black and cheap. One fine day it went and i was never able to recover what was on it.
