Hi , currently i got a asus x99 ws e with Intel 5960x. I'm using a corsair h100i , but its been more then 5 years using it now and want to shift to a air cooler

Currently looking at "Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition" , any other cheap and good air cooler ? got a budget of Rs 4000 . ( RGB does not matter ) .

was looking at the Noctua NH-U12S Chromax , but its out of my budget , is there any offline stores i can get it cheaper then Rs 6000 ?

Hyper 212 for a 140W TDP processor is a very bad idea. Do not skimp and get the Noctua.

Whats wrong with the corsair?

DID it reduce temperature
Well, I installed it right away, never used stock cooler so I don't have any comparison.

But I just started 7zip on a ~20 GB assorted folder (ultra compression level) and temperature is at ~60c.

its decent enough for the price point , as indians we dont have an option of getting something straight forward we are always are looking for VFM , thermaltake is VFM ,the problem with the thread creator is that he went for the razzle dazzle of water cooling looks cool thingy .If he would have bought a D15 in those days it would have been a worry free setup AIO will always fail.

If you want water cooling make custom loop and be prepared to replace parts over the time .If you want peace in your life get an air cooler leave peacefully at max your fan fails you can easily replace it.

Almost made me cry while installing though.

Them fan clips. Man, I had it in my earlier build, and boy, oh boy. Made me happy when I sold the rig. Makes you think twice about mucking about the second time.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

DID it reduce temperature

Yes it does. It was almost as good as a water cooler (3 degrees higher) on an overclocked i7 6800k running for almost 6hrs nonstop.

Deepcool assassin 3 ,d-15 ,dark rock pros aforementioned thermaltake if you are on tight budget will do the job

Before buiying just check whther you will be able to close you case

Why is everyone calling it Thermaltake when it's Thermalright lol

It's not decent enough, it's better than or on par with Noctua D15 depending on the review/benchmarks. And both of them are on par with most AIO coolers. I was looking to buy D15 but it was not available anywhere except Amazon and Amazon had it priced at something like 12k, far above 7-8k which is what I got from others like Prime, Vedant, MD etc. Same story with DarkRock pro except it wasn't on Amazon too. So I went with Thermalright as it was in stock.

It wasn't the fan clips that made me cry but the retention plate on top of CPU. If you remember there's one screw which you can tighten from the middle hole. I almost thought of removing everything and installing stock AMD cooler while doing that.

So the reason i went for a water cooling for the CPU was because D14 or now d15 and other coolers are big and block the ram slots , my past cheap PC builds had alot of ram problems so did not want the trouble for removing the cooler just to check the ram . Luckily this build dint have ram problems till now and i just upgraded to 32 GB .

Reason for changing to air cooler is because i noticed some white reside on the radiator . its been 5 years now

CPU temps
5-10% load temps at 45-50
and at 100% load ( no overclock ) temps at 78-85

i got corsair obsidian series 750d so the above coolers should fit , just got to check if it will have problems with ram, mostly not (Corsair 16 GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 )

Noctua is available only at primeabgb ? amazon prices are way to high

So the cooler is working fine and keeping temps in control and the only reason you want to change is the white stuff? If it's on the outside, and the radiator is aluminum, it could simply be oxidation.

which air cooler would be good for ryzen r7 2700 in 3-5k budget. most of the good options are already out of stock on most sites except amazon where prices are absurd. haven't been able to find anything in stock with right price.

Check Prime, MD, Vedant, PCStudio sites for what coolers they have and choose one from them.
Don't look for a specific cooler, you probably won't find what you want in current situation.
Don't take the word of sellers saying some specific cooler will be back in stock 'soon'. Most of that stuff is imported from China and those imports are getting stuck at customs.
