Logitech Mouse starts working after blowing warm / hot air using hair dryer

Its already late. Those gels wont work as the damage to the circuitry is already done. Get a new mouse.

Yes new mouse has been ordered using a shipping forwarder and I would want to use the moisture absorbents for new mouse and other things in the house.

You could use wd-40 to remove moisture from old mouse too. Just spray a bit of wd-40 on a small piece of cotton and rub that cotton on the pcb. It will remove moisture after few hours and pcb will have a protective coating of wd-40 oil on it. I've used this method on remote controls, keyboards, old calculator etc.

It seriously works? I do have WD40 at home. I just hope it completely does not break my mouse.

Yes it works. Used it on my android box remote yesterday when the back key stopped working. After rubbing wd-40 on the entire pcb and the touch pad contacts half an hour later the remote started working like new.

Thanks going to do this tonight and will see how it pans out. Have ordered isopropyl alcohol and it is shipped already so cannot cancel that.

No need to cancel it but next time just get it from the friendly neighborhood medical store. You don't need 99% purity to clean PCBs.

Cleaned the mouse using WD40. Kept the PCB outside for 45 min - 1 hour and then put it back in mouse.
Will try using tomorrow morning when I turn on laptop for work.

Umm, before the wd-40 you should have used the spirit and brushed it thoroughly. The main things you want to clean are the small leg pins of each IC. Wd-40 is really only needed inside moving contacts like the button microswitches etc. Doesn't matter, you can always use the spirit after the wd-40 too.

Be careful while ordering from this brand - I ordered the same thing but these ppl send me the distilled water instead (worst thing - I didn't realise it till I opened the bottle for usage).
Oh. Damn! Guess you couldn't even get a refund then.
So either all those reviews were fake reviews bought online or that particular seller is cheating people. Coz the latter happens a lot too.

I have Logitech M570 Trackball wireless Mouse. Off late, it has been giving me many issues and it my primary pointing device for use with office laptop and an indispensable item for me. So much that I have already ordered another one from a US website.

I opened up the mouse to look into it and see what the issue is and didn't see much. Turning switch on / off didn't do anything, pressing things on the PCB of mouse did nothing. Sometimes removing battery and placing it back and making sure everything was connected between positive and negative terminals and it would light but only sometimes.
On reddit user suggested that I can put isopropyl alcohol but I don't have it and I don't even know how to use it. But instead, I used a blow dryer and used it for sometime over the PCB and the mouse started working.
But then next day same issue wherein the mouse would not work, so i again opened up today and did the blow drying and it worked again.

Any permanent fix for this?
It's same issue what I facing now with m570 trackball mouse , when I use hair blower abit warm , the mouse start work after while repeating same issue.

m570 suddenly stop working .
- no led light on.
- move trackball the cursor not move
- Right and left button have clicksound but no act.

troubleshooting
1.Take out the pcb check supply 1.5 ~1.6 DC. = Good
2. Spray PCB contact cleaner .= Same issue.
3. Wait awhile dry under sun = The LED start light up, mouse start work.
4. After awhile the same issue back.
5. Use hot hair dryer blow on top pcb = start work again.
6. After awhile same issue again.

Guys if you have any idea which electronic component may effect during hot air .?

many thanks in advance

I could not do anything and threw the mouse and got another. If you have a way to get one for a reasonable price, count me in. I already have one but I so much need this mouse for my work daily, I want to keep a backup as well.
Last time, I had ordered through a guy (Mansoor) I know (not Rahul) and I think inclusive of the mouse cost + shipping till my home in India, I paid Rs. 4052 (mouse price was about $32 with taxes and free shipping).
So at that time, I paid $32 (approx Rs. 2380) for mouse and 4052 - 2380 = 1672 rupees for shipping all the way to my home. Mouse was in my and in < 15 days.

Compared to that, I recently got quote from Rahul for same mouse and he quoted me Rs. 1500 for his shipping and then local courier separate which is almost same but I have to wait then for 2 months or so.

I can ask Mansoor for quotes of 2 mice if you are interested. I am in Mumbai. Chances are he may give separate quotes if local courier is in very different locations.
