Questions
  1. What is your budget?
    • 1 lakh max
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • None- Have a 7 year old asus laptop K53SM
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • None
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Ryzen 5 3600
    • Motherboard - any X570 board from a future proofing perspective
    • RAM - 2 x 8 GB 3200 Mhz DDR4 Corsair vengeance
    • PSU - Corsair TX650M
    • (please mention the rest in above format)
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Will upgrade CPU and GPU when the current config shows signs of aging. Later the better.
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • Bangalore
    • Open to online purchase
  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • Yes
  8. What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • Gaming
    • Browsing
    • Desktop Processing
    • Watching HD movies
  9. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
    • Prefer to buy a brand with decent warranty and after sales service in Bangalore
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • Primarily first person shooters, adventure games like Witcher 3, Wolfenstein, GTA 5 etc
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Gaming - 1080p
    2. Desktop - 1440x900
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • No
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 7 64 bit
The main confusion is around 2K OR 1080P. The CPU, GPU and monitor selection primarily depends on this. One thought is to go with a decent 1080p setup with something like a 144Hz monitor and a used 2070 super and upgrade the CPU and GPU for a higher resolution few years later. But would like to keep my losses low in case i upgrade.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you very much for the reply. But in that case, i will have to delay the purchase by a couple of months.
Would it be too crazy to buy a used lower version graphic card and a monitor now and upgrade the two in a few months?
Something like a 1060 for a low price maybe..

definitely if you are interested in used no issue we can finish things off under a lakh ,you might end up with a 1080ti within 25 k or you dont want to spend more on gpu that can get rx 580 gbram within 10-12 k

so you can tell us what is your actual preference big monitors with high refresh rate what compnents you are fine with used etc

What are your requirements for the keyboard and mouse? I'd recommend a TVS Gold +G402 combo instead :p
Honestly, i have never used a gaming keyboard or mouse. So i really don't know what to expect. Any suggestion is going to be an upgrade over a regular simple keyboard mouse, i guess. But i hall surely check your suggestion out. Also the one that i am considering is for 5k. So i do not wish to go beyond that amount for a combo at this point.

Just found this G402 mouse. Is this the one you're recommending. Can you please maybe post a link?

That's the one. If you're right handed, its hard to find a better mouse for the price. You can also take a look at the G102 if you prefer something simpler/cheaper. The keyboard I've suggested is mechanical. A game changer if you've never used one before.

G402 does look like a really good mouse. The cheapest logitech mechanical keyboard that i found was a G213 which costs 4.5k. Is that the one you're recommending?

No, that's a mechanical-feel keyboard just like the one in your combo, not a true mechanical. Go for it if you want/like the aesthetics.

x570 , b550 & a520 could be the last hurrah for AM4 socket ,if you can wait till 9th of next month for new processor announcements and their prices ,you can balance out the pricing by putting more money on processors rather than board,

for budget vfm board b550

Asrock B550m Pro4 - has better temps

Gigabyte B550m Aorus Pro -overall its good

for midrange

MSI Bazooka has good vrm temperatures than VFM budget boards

in x570

for your budget of 20

i think you can get Msi tomahawk wifi cracker of a board vrms as good as its top end board

online prices could be 1000-1500 higher but worth it

I had recommended that board to you by going thru all the vrms and this is a tier A board as recommended by linus tech tips. And this board will suit your budget of 20k.
There is nothing wrong with x570, the only issue is may not support amd ryzen 4000 series, but then even 550 chipset wont support it.
So many ppl feel better ro buy 550 than 570 boards. Well then buy a bloody x370z cos that will support the cpu you have.

I had given you a wide list of board
It boils down to individuals choice in this list of tier a boards. I recommended the x570 out of this list cos of ease of availability and asus brand value + service.

Asus: X570 X570-F, TUF Plus, Prime Pro, Crosshair VIII Impact, X570-I, X570-P, B550 TUF Plus (mATX & mATX WiFi), X470 Crosshair VII Hero, B450 TUF Pro S (mATX), X370 Crosshair VI Extreme

Asrock: X570 ITX/TB3, X470 Taichi (Ultimate), X370 Taichi, Professional Gaming

Gigabyte: X570 Aorus Ultra, Pro (ATX), B550 Aorus Pro (& AC) (ATX), X470 Gaming 7

MSI: B550 Mortar

Any way i wanted to order x570 tuf gaming plus wifi this model is 2,3k expensive then plus so 2,3k wasn't a issue. When i went for order that model was out of stock on tpstech so i thought of waiting out couple of days maybe they refill their inventory.Again this msi tomhawk x570 is in same price list around 23k so whats the harm in taking opinion of learned members and learn few things.see personally i like asus brand i have their z170 pro gaming and i have faced no problem with it fir four years.By the way i never said you have recommended some bad product i said am got confused about these b550 model
regards
.
