Guys, anybody suggests me which Mobile Phone is better within 20000rs
I have a doubt on these 5 phones
  • Xiaomi Poco M2 Pro
  • Realme 7
  • Moto Fusion +
  • Samsung M31s
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

What you need from your phone, what are your preferences?

Fusion is for people who prefer stock android and a clean, smooth, bloat and ad-free experience thereof. The phone runs on a somewhat powerful chip as well (730G) and combined that with stock android the performance should be excellent. Camera is just fine. Display is also good enough. It lacks a compass though.
M31s is for people who prefer the brand value of Samsung. Display of Samsung phones always the best in class. Battery backup is should also be good for a phone having massive 6k mAh. Camera is better than the Fusion especially at night. But it runs on samsung's own skin oneUI, which is bloated, inconsistent in outputting 60 fps constantly and it might also have ads injected in the UI. SD730 on the Fusion is also much better than the Exy used in the M31s.

So choose what you need, clean vs bloated android, or brand value, or a better camera, or a better performing phone etc. No clue for the rest of the china phones you mentioned.

If you are the one like me who prefers strong sturdy hardware without caring about any brand and os and prefer only custom roms then pick the best hardware and rock and roll on custom roms!

IMO, LCD displays in less than 20k phones are outright SHIT, so won't recommend that.

1) K20 Pro - OLED, Full screen notchless display, top specs, good build quality.
You can flash LineageOS if you are wary of MIUI like me. May have to increase budget by 2k approx (after card discounts).

2) Realme 7 Pro - OLED display, good specs, good build quality but can't flash custom roms.

If you don't know how to flash a custom ROM and are okay with less "premium" build -

3) Samsung M31s - OLED display, Good UI but I won't recommend it. Its overpriced for the processor and build it offers imo. Rather look at A50s (14k during sale) or A70s (23k during sale) for better build quality and features.

You can also look at 1 year old devices like Realme X, Redmi K20, Realme X2. Then factors like Dual sim slot, micro sd card slot etc also come into play, so choose accordingly.

Moto is owned by Lenovo and I am not really fond of them so haven't used any moto phone since X Play. Avoid Poco phones too.

PS - I have used Poco F1, Realme X, Oneplus X, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Nexus 5, Mi A1, Moto X Play, Moto E2

Realme 7 Pro: You expect a month old phone to have custom roms?
Whats wrong with Poco? Poco F1 is the best given the price and config.

No, that is why I wrote that he won't be able to flash any custom roms. Even otherwise none of the Realme phones have a stellar custom rom support.

Sub-standard parts and horrible display. I bought it for ₹23k and not the discounted price and its not the best phone for that price.

What sub standard parts? The phone performance is simply awesome for the price and package. Now if you disassembled and looked at spares then no words. No one cares for it.

As for realme phone I wont agree at all..

Here are evidences.

15k-20k
AMOLED Display
Android 10
Dual SIM
No brand preference
Browsing and watching videos
Dual 4G VoLTE
Best in class camera and performance with decent build, Snapdragon processor only
I've looked at Realme 7 Pro, Realme X2 and Motorola One Fusion+.

I bought 2 android phones recently and took a dive in the world of custom ROMs, recoveries after a long long time.
IMHO, you wouldn't miss AMOLED unless you're coming from one or directly comparing 2 side by side ( but the LCD panel needs to be decent and in my very limited experience with Chinese phones, most are not very good)
I bought a cheap K20 pro and fairly expensive OnePlus 8Pro.
If you're budget is slightly flexible, go with K20 Pro. It just can't get better than that at the price ( it's possibly around 22k in India, I paid few euros more here without warranty, but the next option with same HW costs more than double in Europe)
MiUi 12 is a strange beast, it has some fantastic features, but the phone was crammed with bloat, but those can be uninstalled or disabled rather easily.
But after disabling certain MiUi things ( with strange process names), specially the dodgy "security" app, I was having some random lags here and there ( it's my lack of knowledge and understanding of Android, not the fault of OS)
So I read up about Xiaomi's bootloader policy ( it's different from Samsung/ OnePlus) in details and could finally wrap my head around the SLIGHTLY different approach to custom ROMs in Xiaomi devices.
Now I'm running a custom ROM with every banking app, Google pay etc.working flawlessly. Even our organization's extremely cautious IT department installed one particular app successfully without any problem ( I'm not rooted, but the bootloader is unlocked with TWRP recovery, and this particular app is extremely picky about system integrity and just won't install in any modified system, it doesn't even install if you have a single legit apk downloaded from anywhere other than playstore)
I'm pretty sure few custom ROMs are indeed safe.
Sorry for the long post...K20 Pro with or without MiUi...for 20k.
Basically spending extra doesn't make any sense.
I'm returning the 8 Pro for an iPhone. Wondering why anyone in EU/US will even consider it..

Your posts actually inspired me to look back into custom ROM, recoveries etc. after many years.
Indeed a good custom ROM & kernel is still relevant for cheap Chinese phones with decent hardware but downright obnoxious software.
I'm really impressed by the major custom ROMs for K20 pro. Most of them ( only tried 3) have zero/ negligible bugs.
Thanks a lot mate.
An off-topic question. Do the OTA updates really work with these ROMs?( Pixel Experience is what I'm using and have no intention of flashing anything else or have root access, as it's been rock solid with very good battery life, performance and audio quality)
I was really surprised that one of our internal app didn't even get installed in MiUi ( it showed some security certificate error) but working flawlessly in Pixel Experience!!
When I'm working from the laptop/ iMac software, it's showing that I've installed it in a Pixel 4!! ( This mobile app is not available in playstore but present in Apple app store, and only works with iPhones, few Samsung models and Pixel only)

OTA updates you will receive from the developer of the rom itself.
The best part or say habit about custom rom these days is as soon as google releases monthly patches, these devs bundle it and push them via OTA giving us the same genuine exp that too without formatting/flashing every month or occasionally.
